I think the colors and shading in these films really gives them a more theatrical film-esque look and feel, more so than the Chipmunk Adventure. Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman could pretty much be considered the Alvin and the Chipmunks series finale, and I think it gives the show a very fitting conclusion...

The Frankenstein one was my favorite of the two movies. The boys' relationship with the Monster (whom they called Frankie) was charming, adorable and even believable. In almost every story featuring an incarnation of Frankenstein's Monster; while most adults seem to want him dead, it's the children who actually take the time to get to know the creature (ex. Maria in the first Frankenstein film.) It's nice that the younger generation doesn't follow the same silly fears teens and adults have

all of the lines from this movie are embedded so deep into my memory, i love their voices in the older cartoons, also i'm glad you appreciate the nickelodeon one, some folks are so quick to hate on stuff just because it's a reboot/remake or a modern version of older media, but i like it too, you really can't go wrong with the chipmunks in my opinion

In general, the only annoying thing in the modern show is Alvinnn being a bit too much of a jerk specially with Theo, and Theo being most of the show a bit too much of a kiddy (except the last season were he put Alvin on his site 1 or 2 times). Also the chapters with the school bully were too repetitive, that guy never improved a bit his attitude (or he improved one episode, to forget all of it in the next one). The rest of the show were mostly random adventures as how they used to do in the 80s, but about new topics. Personally, to me the best episodes with the best chapter songs were the ones starring the chipettes, or the ones with them and the chipmunks. The last season had the best episodes with Eleanor as protagonist. Also, Sandra Berez (leader cartoonist of the chipettes in the classic show and first movie, rip) left some designs of Alvinnn's Brittany in the classic animation style. Seeing it I know nickelodeon chips would look good in a classic style animation project.

You mentioned Brittney's redesign in the Wolfman movie. As a little kid in the 90's I watched the repeats of the 80's show and the spin off Chipmunks go to the Movies and Brittney was probably my first innocent crush. As I said I was very young so it's not like I understood what was going on, I just knew that I really, REALLY liked seeing Brittney when she showed up in the show and would think about her sometimes. Cut to a few years later with puberty approaching on the horizon and having a clear understanding that I liked girls. My sweet crush on Brittney having faded as I was crushing on girls at school instead and then I saw Brittney in the Wolfman movie and I was like...DAAAAAMN!

I know what do you mean, heh. As kid, it was the first movie the one who got me hooked to the show. Before that, I had little to none interest in the show, as I only picked minutes of random episodes (interesting enough the ones without the chipettes) at TV before going to do something else. Since at the time was more into mecha and super stuff, it was like "meh, nothing interesting to watch" (tm). But then I was brought to watch the movie at theater with my sisters kek... And well, I got amused by the chipettes to say the least. Ironically my sisters didn't liked it that much, but I enjoyed the movie and its music non stop... But then I found myself in the dilemma I couldn't honestly say what was the main thing I liked about that movie (were the chipettes, the chipettes man). In the end, you found that kid myself awaiting every episode at TV, movies and specials starring the chipettes. And ofc, I got myself in love with music in general. Yeh, the chips made me love music kek.

These are some of my favorite movies to this day. I can almost quote the wolf man episode word for word. It’s always a good way to relax when I get home from work. I always thought it was crazy cute how the actress for Brittany and Jennette married the actor of Simon and Alvin.

they've been married for over 40 years, even before the Chipettes existed. but it's no coincidence, she's the one who created them. and the two of them still own the franchise today, although they've been trying to sell it since two years ago.

I had a mad special interest in Alvin and The Chipmunks between the age of 10 and ...14? I remember memorizing the dance moves to "Girls/Boys of Rock and Roll" and watching the two vhs tapes I had over and over and over. but Alvin and he Chipmunks Meet The Wolfman has a special place in my heart. I don't know why, it just really spoke to me on all accounts. I even genuinely fandubbed a bit of the beginning of the movie into swedish. I didn't have anything to pitch up my voice with so I just talked as deeply and slowly as possible while still keeping up the acting and timing and then speed up the audio and it turned out surprisingly well lol (I also did a swedish parody dub with my best friend at the time and it's as sophisticated and well written as you'd expect from a couple of 13yr olds who think sex is the most hilarious thing in the world)

It's interesting. I didn't necessarily grow up in this chipmunk era (I'm going to be 19 so soon, where's my scorpio aliance?) I grew up with the 2000s movies (the sqeakquel, the films went down hill after that and don't get me started on the rebooted cartoon) but it did introduced me to the cartoon version (cartoons over live-action any day) and I got into the chipmunk movies too.

being a dancer, specifically hip hop but others as well, i really was impressed by your musicality bit of the video and was pretty thankful that you got to share the concept of musicality with others outside of the dance world

Didn’t know the term musicality until watching this video. Thanks for teaching it to me. It’s something I’ve thought about myself but never knew what to call it.

No joke: I watched the Chipmunk Wolfman movie the same day this video was released, but I only just saw this video today. I'm so glad to see there are other intelligent people out there besides me who recognize what a masterpiece this movie is for the Halloween season! Such a fun, wholesome film with a killer good soundtrack that I spammed nonstop in my living room growing up ^_^ This a great video Oh and the Frankenstein film is nice too.

The Chipmunk Adventure is un-ironically my favorite movie of all time. I was given the vhs of it back when I was 5 and I still watch it on my old vcr. These Halloween films are also pretty great. I'm glad I can watch them on Hulu now.

I appreciate you looking at more obscure stuff. Although I never really got the appeal of Alvin. Really love that vid on the chipmunks designs from the 60s show and the 80s series.

It is strange the amount Alvin and the Chipmunks played into my childhood. I've somehow seen all these movies, and a few of the older episodes. I honestly probably never would have thought to much about them again if it wasn't for this channel. Edit: imma write that musicality stuff down. I notice it in a ton of stuff I watch and never knew it had a word.

Ooooo the nostalgia hit me hard with this one. I actually started singing along with the ending song from Wolfman. It's been at least 20 years since I've seen it. This video was well timed. Also, I'm pretty sure I had a crush on this version of Dave.

I’d have to say the Wolfman chipmunks movie was my favorite. It had that eerie vibe down similar to like a Scooby-Doo movie with some adult undertones. Great vid!👏🏾
