I'd prefer the season finally to start with a remix to the original opening theme song and let that stay as the season 2 opening. If the show is good. Because that theme song is too good to juat sit on.

Everybody Hates Chris is my favorite 2000s sitcom, so I was cautiously optimistic for this new show but I am beyond happy with the results. I was kinda blown back by how much attention to detail they had when it comes to picking up where the original show left off. I actually had a discussion with one of my college homies who wasn't as enthusiastic about the pilot episode as I was, and the consistency of Crhis's character was my primary reason why I enjoyed it. Based on how Chris is written in the original show, this is EXACTLY how he would have handled things, and if this is the kind of energy they got in the writers' room, then this show is in good hands. And yeah, I definitely clocked Mr. Omar's design. Of all the less-accurate adaptations of the characters, Mr. Omar is by far the most jarring. Hell, I'm pretty sure that by the end of the series, Chris and Mr. Omar were the same height. TJW did get tall as hell by the end. Lastly, it's a shame that we don't have a theme song or the classic music cues. If they had finally adapted the original full theme song Tichina Arnold wrote, but at least she still sings the little music stinger!

Wonder how far they'll push cartoonish nature of the live action material or how it will take advantage of being a cartoon to be more zany since the Sitcom already felt like a live action family guy Miss opportunity with the claymation joke and reference PJs It was lacking in cutaway jokes compared to the OG since that's where the humor shines for me in the sitcom There are some retcons as I noticed from other comments

As a brazilian, where the show is one of the most iconic pieces of television and have reruns until this date on broadcast (alongside Woody Woodpecker and My Wife and Kids on the RecordTV network), i think this was a great surprise to me and most of Everybody Hates Chris fans.

the adults looking the same but the kids looking different is probably a legal rights issue. The original actors would all have to consent to their likeness being resembled, CC probably thought it would be easier to just make all the kids look different. But for the adults, they could all consent because they're literally reprising their roles for the show. It all checks out.

Yeah this is a hard pass for me, I never really liked the live action original series so I'm not gonna like the animated version of it. So with it being on Comedy Central I don't expect this series to last very long.
