What about the people who legitimately can’t sleep more than 4 hours? I function just fine off 4 hours with zero issues. Everybody is built different and everybody requires different things.
@S2C8509
@S2C8509 3 жыл бұрын
@@richardmann4006 There are a select few people who can actually do this. I agree that these people do exist. The vast majority of people who go on 4 hours of sleep, however, aren't actually built for it, but just trick themselves into believing it via caffeine. They say they aren't tired because they have long forgotten what it's like to be truly awake.

Agreed. There was a point in time where I think it was viewed as a badge of honor and "a good work ethic". But there's a difference between being a reliable worker who will go above and beyond, versus destroying your life over a job. It's a slippery slope and I suggest to anyone out there remove yourself from those types of people / scenarios. They will use you to further their careers and not give a crap about you or your health.

@Mr. Dog It definitely does increase energy, I've never seen someone snort a line and chill on the sofa watching TV. They don't call it Peruvian marching powder for nothing. It kinda blocks the serotonin/dopa/nor from leaving and being re-used as normal. Then they build up in the synapse and lots of dopa&serotonin feels good, but then it get's used up and the crash happens. I kinda like coca leaves for that reason. Not too much chatting random shit about vacuums and more just a restlessness feeling. Modafinil all the way tho, pop a cap at 6am, go back to sleep and by 7 you'll be itching to do something, anything, even if you got no sleep. It has massive benefits to memory formation too so if you try to learn something it sticks better. All very fun stuff. Mostly dopa too but zero come-down and no addictive nature like most stims.

We know man, it sucks. He deserves to be in the Elite pantheon of KZbin comedy Gods. Idk wtf is going on that he's not at a million plus already. Just stick with him, he'll get there eventually. Way this usually works is he'll do something "mainstream" enough that it goes viral, and then he's set for life. SEE: "Eric Andre at the RNC with Alex Jones", he was a niche, absurdist prankster comedian (although that's doing his talent a disservice) on Adult Swim, and barely anyone knew who he was. That video went viral, now he's got memes out the ass and a MOVIE on NETFLIX. That'll be Brent Pella soon!

Had a good laugh at this. I like some of the big names in the self-help industry, but there was always this bizarre, annoying trend where they essentially downplayed sleep and practically implied that you're being lazy if you choose to get a healthy amount of sleep a night. I always felt miserable when I attempted that way of living (e.g. waking up at 3am). If you're lethargic, unfocused, drained, hating life, etc. as a result of chronically getting poor sleep, then the extra time is a useless trade-off.

Just stopped on u’r vid, caught my eye as I only sleep 2-4hrs a night, about every two weeks I might pull a rip-van-winkle and catch about 10-12 for a day... been like that since I was a kid. Interesting story, I stayed awake for 6days and seven nights once when I walked across three states, ended up having audio and visual hallucinations and fell off a cliff... I have lived an interesting life and lost my memory 25 years ago... thanx for the crazy vid, it brought back so many lost recollections....

At four hours a day you might as well be on here bragging about how little you have to work. It's also pretty insulting to all those who labor in vain their entire lives and only barely manage to scrape out a meager existence. In contrast, I go to bed around midnight and wake up without an alarm between 4-4:30 am every day. I then go to work 5 days a week pouring concrete (which is real "actual work" in all kinds of inclement weather) from between 6 and 7 am (depends on the season) until 2 or 3 pm. I have no extended education, no extended debts and make 80K a year. I'd also be willing to bet a big chunk of money I'm more fit. As far as being more relaxed and successful, that's a matter of opinion. Yet because I don't sleep more I'm the pariah? XD

As long as i can remember, i only get 4-6 hours of sleep. I can't go to bed until about midnight. And then, as soon as my head hits the pillow, my mind wakes up. It's the silence, with no distractions, it's perfect for thinking. At least that what my mind seems to think. So i spend 1, 2, sometimes 3 hours or so, laying there, trying to fall asleep. I don't notice it being not enough sleep, as that's all i've ever known, and what my body has always run on. And, everyone else in my family, my siblings and parents, can sleep as soon as they close their eyes. Literally within a minute, they are snoring.

Sleep deprivation is a huge crisis in America, largely I think due to a workaholic culture. We've convinced ourselves that we need that 50k+ job, but do we? Working all those hours to not even enjoy the income and hating your job 5 days a week only to live for the weekend. All that pressure adds up to stress and then sleep deprivation. And to add, we also convince ourselves to follow through school to work a job that may or may not make us happy because ultimately we think we need that job and that income while at the same time going into debt and crunching deadlines for that degree.
