There is never going to be "consistency" in that Laker front office as long as Linda and Kurt Rambis is there. And this is coming from a lifelong Laker fan.
@Mark198d

The problem is Jeanie who would hire them in the first place to be in positions of influence because she prefers to hire people she is already familiar with like Magic, the Rambises, Rob Pelinka (Kobe's agent) instead of just hiring the most qualified people. She runs the Lakers like a small family business. When she and Phil were together, they had a power struggle with Jerry West and they basically booted West from the Lakers. And then the Lakers released a pathetic tribute when West passed, who was responsible for so much of their franchise success as a player and GM. Jeanie needs to sell the team.

I don't want to go back to the Jim Buss era. Lakers need to decide on a direction and commit to it. You can't establish a culture when you are constantly turning over the culture.

It's funny how much hate JJ gets because he....what, exactly? Successfully transitioned from being a player to a broadcaster then built a podcast with a million followers, got Lebron to do a podcast with him and now gets hired as a head coach? You really see how small and insecure people are when they shit on someone for being successful in doing something they love.

He disrespected entire Era's from 50's to 90's as being inferior basketball but today's NBA, dont even call traveling n double dribble.

8 teams. Those dudes have second jobs for the avg player. Not the same as today’s nba even with those rule changes. I get it tho. Old heads in general don’t like the new basketball but basketball has gotten to this point because of the success and popularity of it overall. Sacrifice the old for the world

@@TylerDurden-ww3yg I'm tired of seeing this. Nobody cares about his plumbers comment, people just want to find something about JJ to criticize. In context, his 'plumbers/firemen' comment wasn't even that bad. It was harsh, but it was during a heated debate where maddog was trying to discredit chris paul by bringing up bob cousy having 29 assists in a game. JJ even said during that segment that you can't compare eras, but when you're talking to someone who tries to discredit a current player by bringing up stats of a player in the 1950s, you have to bring up the fact that the caliber of players back then were inferior. Watch that segment, JJ kept trying to end the era comparisons but maddog was insistent. Everyone implicitly accepts this as fact anyway. It's why not a single person puts any NBA player with 10 or 11 rings as the greatest of all time despite championships being one of if not the most important criteria for greatness...people recognize the league and competition were different back then and using those numbers to discredit modern players is ridiculous.

Lakers problems are mainly due to several missing pieces in their starting 5, as well as their bench and not necessarily their coaching.

Exactly... hard to quantify ...amazing how Pop won with all those guys with NBA HOF's but has struggled mightily without them. Coaching is important...but no Hoopers equal no Rings. This is not exactly quantum mechanics knowing this about sports.

Dalton Knecht should be able to earn some mins. That being said, they’ll need some more 2-way guys. I assume JJ will play Vando more than Ham did too. Gabe should be healthy also, and you know JJ will have some plays drawn up to get those shooters shots.

On my lakers they are very close the media makes it look like there terrible when they are not honestly if you swapped dlo for a 10point a game defense player like a Caruso which sucks to know we let him go for nothing the series is different and coach as well with him not taking timeouts,proper challenges in game two it's in the margins honestly and you put last year rui in this year playoffs stuff would have been different there a good player away from being the same as the rest of contenders and two players away from being a champion contender honestly
