I'm glad I found this video. In ireland myself and i have a honda cb650 as my daily commuter. Great bike, but i think something like this will be my next choice. More practical. Less power, but as you say, it's all you need.

Great real world revue Kevin, No head banging music etc, thanks. I've had a 500 TMax and scooters are the best kept secret on 2 wheels. Comfort, storage etc. I did a run up to Scotland on a fireblade, and I could hardly walk afterwards! Same trip on the Tmax was great. Worst thing I ever did was sell the TMax! Looking to get another scooter soon and think it's going to be a 400 Burgman.

Hi Peter, thanks for the comment. I’ve rode a lot of bikes and the burgman really impressed me. For a 400cc it is highly impressive and is absolutely perfect for touring. I agree with you about the maxi scooters - they are indeed a well kept secret. Safe riding!

Well I got my 2012 Burgman 400ZA last week. A great bike! The ride up to get it on my CBF600 nearly crippled me, (torn meniscus in right knee) the ride back on the Burgman was like sitting in an armchair for 4 hours. kept to 70-80 mph. Economical too, averaged 68 mpg into a strong headwind most of the way.

Good review. I have a 1200 Sportster. I just turned 67. I am seriously considering getting a 400 Burgman. By the way I was in Ireland 3 years ago. Loved the place. I would say the roads are one factor. They let the grass next to the road grow tall for the birds to nest. Good for the birds but you can't see ahead on the curves. Here in the US there are to many people looking at their phones and not the road.
@eirebiker42752 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Unfortunately way too many people on phones over here too. I prefer to ride when the roads are quiet - less idiots. Glad you enjoyed Èire - some nice biking roads If the weather allows. Stay safe!

Burgmans have a lot of pros. Storage, engine, reliability and even a good style. I like them. Great video mate. Enjoyed. Thinking of getting one. Cheers.

Good choice. I've had two. I would have had another but emissions regs on the latest model have reduced the power from 33bhp to 28.8 (and the weight is around the same) and there is a lot less storage. I went for a Honda Forza 350 instead. Same power but less weight, and the same storge as the current Burgman.

they are like a secret aspect of biking... i had a piaggio x8 400 for a while.. my missus absolutely loved the back seat she never complained once... good on fuel , comfy.. cheap tyres..i was changing the 1.4l oil every 2k miles soo simple... ive had all types of roadbikes, harley, sportsbike... done 10 years bike courier in uk so ive done ridiculous miles... im now 55 and have a normal bike but i am craving another scooter, it was soo much fun at weekends with missus on back we could both ENJOY the scenery and chat etc.. and you dont have to walk around in Heavy bike gear when you arrive somewhere, it all fits under seat etc... im eyeing burgmans now in 2021... i can feel a purchase happening...

I currently ride a 150cc Vespa LX ie. Im actually looking to sell my Vespa and buy a 400 Burgman. Here in California, they're going for 1,900 to 2,500. I was thinking about the 650, but I think the 400 should suit me just fine. 75 on the highway for commuting sounds awesome to me. Thanks for the video. Much love from Central California 😎

Thanks man. It's definitely more relaxed for sure, still has a fair bit of bukk to it though. It's a very underrated machine, decent power and you will not get a more comfortable bike to ride. You should take one for a spin and see what you think.

I just rode one that was for sale. Turns 7500 RPM at 75 MPH. Motor screams at any hi-way to free way speeds. And the small tires make it twitchy at higher speeds. 31 H P is not enough for 2 up touring. I wanted to buy it bad, but it just does not fit what I need!
@nigelbourne57855 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with your comments I'm getting same bike for commuting, it doesn't matter what you ride as long as you ride keep safe youth from Mr Bourne p.s what's considered responsible mileage on the 400 when buying 2nd hand ?
@eirebiker42755 жыл бұрын
Hi Nigel. It's hard to tell with mileage as no two bikes are the same, and I suppose it depends on how they were looked after and ultimately the price. They have a good reputation for achieving high mileage if serviced correctly. If a bike had a full thourogh service history then mileage in excess of 30k wouldn't bother me. Then again the same bike with no history and 30k could potentially have had a hard life.
@nigelbourne57855 жыл бұрын
@@eirebiker4275 thanks for your advice, no or little service history walk away same as a car. I plan to do most of the bike maintenance myself to keep down the cost do you have any videos on this thanks again Mr Bourne.😜
