I used the method above while redoing the carpeting in my 72 corvette and it worked perfectly. I did have to sometimes burn the same hole 2 - 3 times, but ended up with custom bolt holes like in the video. I used an Awl rather then a screw to make the guide holes as the screw thread sometimes can get caught in the carpet and be hard to push through. Thanks for the heads up on this. Looks custom!
