Three Different Record Cleaning Pads - Pros & Cons

I have only just recently discovered your channel, l find it very interesting. I’m planning on taking my turntable out of storage and will need to clean my records as they’ve never ever been done, this type of record cleaning, as far as I’m aware of wasn’t really available 40 years ago when I was into vinyl. And does the black magic pad make more cleaning improvements with using that with the g2 fluid first before using the (standard) black terry pad? Or is the black magic pad more effective with the g3 fluid and a record vacuum machine?

If you've got a record vacuum, then it's preferable, but using the Black Magic pad will still improve the results of hand cleaning. G2 is more gentle as a fluid and less time-consuming, so if G2 works, great. But you'll sometimes come across records dirty enough that they need something a little stronger. @@soundmatters Alright so using the black magic pad will do some extra improvements either way with g2 then just using the standard microfiber pad.

Hm - sounds partly like marketing snake oil to sell more over priced pads - though ive been looking for a brush that has the short prickly pad something like corduroy that the original discwasher had back in the day, it was more aggressive in one direction than the other and it really did the job on older dirtier records.

Thanks for watching. The black magic pad doesn’t really absorb well, but the regular one does. Different purposes. The former being helpful at scrubbing while the latter mops everything up. I have heard the original Discwasher was directional: interesting! 🎶🎧

$40 for the lot....that's too expensive...plus shipping. they need to lower the price. I would never pay that amount.

I could only hope to pay $ 40, I priced just one pad along with a small bottle of cleaner it came out to $ 81 Cdn.
