That can be said about any submission though. The first two attempts are what hopefully loosens it enough to make the third work

Awesome techniques to add to my arsenal. If I catch it early enough, I like to use the web of my thumb and forefinger and jamb it in the bend of my opponents elbow to keep the pressure off my neck.
@KnightJiuJitsu2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great technique to slow the choke. It can be used in conjunction with these escapes. By itself it’s just a tourniquet, but it is super effective to set up escapes.

Very nice escape the only one i know is actually just joining your hands and driving your elbow in the side of the face of your opponent to make some space and hopefully escape but this can go along with it it's pretty neat.

Are there similar head&arm choke escapes from mount and side control? Is it even possible? Thank you
@KnightJiuJitsu2 жыл бұрын
It’s a catch-22 situation. Finishing the head and arm from mount is a little harder typically than from side control, so answering the phone defense is a little more effective from there. That combined with shrimping and attempting to get half guard are steps in the process for escaping it from mount. The last piece would be what the 3rd escape in this video looks like.

Plz explain?, why tony ferguson cannot escape from arm triangle, he tried to eascape using same way you shown on this video, but cant
@KnightJiuJitsu Жыл бұрын
There’s a lot going on prior to that and he had been rocked as well. There are some good examples of this escape sequence being applied in mma and grappling competition from Imanari and from Jiri vs Glover Teixiera

Nice. Definitely one of the worst positions to end up in. My professor is huge compared to me, but I need to try some of these…because the only way I’ve been getting out is to tap, lol! Maybe the last option is best for someone who’s got 70lbs on you?
@squilly74762 жыл бұрын
Thats what i was thinking the size/weight difference for the first two might take some strength I don’t have. I’ll definitely try the third one
@KnightJiuJitsu2 жыл бұрын
What I can’t really show or explain in a short video like this demo is that the space required for successfully completing the 3rd option is best set up by attempting the first 2 options. But if one of those first two options happens to work, all the better.
@josephbreza-grappling94592 жыл бұрын
@@KnightJiuJitsu very nice, thank you! I like the leg grab. Seems to give you a good rocking motion to loosen things up. Very clever man.
@josephbreza-grappling94592 жыл бұрын
@@squilly7476 he responded and said that the third one is when the first two don’t work…I think it’s to generate momentum to loosen it up. Hard to get all the details in those shorts. I don’t like posting shorts for the same reason, but they get a lot more views

Because it is more common not to finish it from knee on belly. It can be, but the most common finish is from the side like this.
