You can doubt it all you want, but if you had knowledge of that pump and that turbo combo(along with the fact that it's a Scheid combo) you wouldn't You can already see the massive amount of ET left on the table with that launch - always a problem with these extreme diesels - nevermind the weight that it's carrying WELL beyond even the heaviest roots blown big block If it was just as easy as building it and just going out there and making flawless pass after flawless pass, there would be a shit load more people pushing diesel this far than there are

I love the emergency shut down plates on the turbos. it really puts into perspective how much force those turbos can put on something that is put in front of them when your emergency shut off plate has to be a ~1/2" thick solid plate.

I am so glad you guys are starting to show the diesel events. I have been in the diesel scene for a little bit now and there is nothing like it. So much fun and just amazing to watch.. I love the sled pulls, I have been going to sled pulls since I was a kid, over 40 years now and I am amazed at how fast the diesel races has grown in the past 5 years. Keep it up 1320.

Years ago (like 2008 or 09) I saw Scheid run a dragster (240" Super Comp chassis) with a 5.9 / compound setup at Beech Bend (KY). I say "saw" b/c I was standing behind it in the staging lanes waiting for my group to run and had to wait for the smoke to clear to see the scoreboard. I want to say it was like 7.0 @ 173 mph, which at the time was the ET and mph diesel world record. Damn near unheard of at the time but much more common now.

Less stroke on the crankshaft and you can spin the engine alot higher rpm with less feet per min on the pistons. So you wanna take an sbc and run 8k rpm daily just put a 3" stroke crank in it from a 289.

The guy said it was a 394, which is a 6.7L bore with a 5.9L stroke. 4.724" stroke at 7000 rpm is 5511 feet per minute piston speed. That's fairly typical for drag racing/tractor pulling.

Pistons can really only go so fast, I believe about 80mph, even in high revving F1 engines. Shorter stroker and bigger bore allows higher revs with similar piston speed so maybe this is over bored a lot. Either way its listen speed isn't any more than most gas engines at 7k

You can't really calculate the maximum torque from the information in the video. But assuming it's deliver 3k hp at 7k rpm the torque at that rpm is around 3000 nm or 2200 ft*lb.

Also a lot of tracks aren’t long enough for the really fast diesels to run 1/4s on. They’re a fair bit heavier than an equally fast car and need a lot more stopping room.
