Not sure if you check emails of older videos but what is the best way to increase in the yoke using garter stitch.
@PurlTogether4 жыл бұрын
What does the pattern recommend? I’d be tempted to use the left and right lifted increases unless there is a logistical reason not to

Pattern calls for kfb but it looks like I made mistakes. I will try your suggestion Thank you for your prompt response

I taught myself to knit just over a year ago by watching random KZbin videos and reading books. It is nice to see the stitches I use explained and the reasons why they work and what doesn't work. I don't like holes either and I figured out using the back leg at times just looks nicer. Now I know its a technique! Thank you.

Thank you for sharing what you learned years ago. I will use this technique on a sweater that I am knitting.

Hello I just wanted to say that you could definitely see when your knitting and bring the stitch up I don't know how come you can't see it but I definitely see it I prefer the knitting into the front and the back of the Stitch and if you do the very tightly there's no nits it there's no hole there's no nothing

Can I use the L & R leaning increase in place of M1L or M1R on a sweater? The M1L & R make me crazy! Thanks dear!!!!!
@PurlTogether5 жыл бұрын
I'm not quite certain that I understand your question. The "M" simply means "make one" What type of increase you use is up to you. What are you referring to when you say L & R leaning increase? How would it be different than what I've shown here?
@hisalone71665 жыл бұрын
Purl Together I’d love to do the daughter/mom/gmom increase in place of the M1R or M1L. Is that doable?
@PurlTogether5 жыл бұрын
Sure.. that's exactly what a the "generational" lifted increases are: Make one right, and make one left.

Purl Together Yay me and YAY you!!!! So many thanks! Now I can knit that dang sweater without dreading the increases. Have a great rest of the day!

Another super clear video. Thank you! I haven't tried the last method yet but will give it a shot in the next shrug I'm about to cast on.

Thanks ... I like them best too. Do you prefer the right leaning on the right side of the toe and the left leaning on the left or does it matter as long as they are symmetrical? Also ... the Scatterby pattern on your KAL uses the Kfb and the toes on your socks look great !!! I tried it and they look really good on my toes as well but I still prefer the lifted increase.
@PurlTogether6 жыл бұрын
I used the lifted increases on the Scatterbys also. When knitting the toes, I use the right leaning increase at the beginning of the needle and a left leaning at the end of the needle, so the resulting increases lean toward outside edge of the toe. Hope that makes sense. You can watch how I do the increases here (start at about the 10 min. mark) kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIHSqKCqr9CrmZY

Thanks ... that makes sense. I thought you used the kfb on the scatterby tutorial.

👍 just started doing gusset increases on a pair of socks. Before watching this video I had confusion about when I was making a left or a right. Got it now! Next I have to learn how to read my knitting. Did I do an increase on the previous round? Small needles, darker fingering weight yarn and old eyes... like you mentioned the lifted increase is almost invisible .

I love Cat's sweet tomato heel, it's the only one I use now that I have perfected it after 5 pairs of taat toeups. only one had to be frogged. I also prefer the lifted increase.
