Despite living in MO all my life, growing up with the books and TV show AND having a grown daughter living in Branson for five years now, we just made the trip to Mansfield this fall. So glad we finally made it! ❤

Kristen, your daughter's are so sweet and adorable. So nice to see them all in the video. I had to re-wind the part where your daughter was riding the red rocking horse, our family had a red wooden rocking horse and my younger brother and sisters would ride that thing constantly, wish we still had it, for sure would be an antique. Hope you get over your sickness soon, you just wore yourself down working so hard on the move, you need to lay low for awhile and rest as much as you can. Thankyou for taking us along on your road trip. Take care!

Thank you for taking us along on your road trip. I loved the Little House on the Prairie show but have never read the books. We just had our 4 grandchildren from Omaha for 3 days out here in North Platte, NE. They are 3 boys and a girl. Ages 10-3. We were very busy. I need to introduce my granddaughter to the Little House on the Prairie series. You are brave road tripping alone with 3 littles!! Your girls are adorable!!! See you next time!

Read all the books and I’ve been to 3 of the houses. The Ozarks and DeSmet, and no house left but also have been to Walnut Grove many times. I have a friend who lives in Walnut Grove- they have a play every summer about Laura - with a horse drawn wagon- singing and dancing - it’s fun to see. And the antique shops up there are amazing- prices so much more reasonable than here in Omaha. I’ve also visited the black hills museum they have for Carrie Ingall’s in Keystone SD - her husband was involved a bit with Mt. Rushmore. Just have to say you have the best kiddos- such sweethearts. 😊

I was going to tell you that as well, that wallmart has the bigger glass canisters. But I can't remember if they seal with the plastic seal. I bought one of mine without a lid. My hubby has had a lathe for awhile & a couple if years right after Christmas, he went to his shop & never hsd touched the lathe. But in one night he began turning the coolest candle stands & rolling pins, tops, finals, Harry Potter wands & even a toy top. My kitchen table was overflowing in a couple of mths. So I use the giant glass canister without a lid, for the rolling pins. We had some of it in a booth for awhile. He gets the wood straight from our woods, we burn wood, so some come from the wood pile itself. Hickory, pine, wallnut & Locust is a weird very hard wood, Hickory to, its my favorite has such pretty veins. The Locust has these wicked looking thorns on the top of the trees, about half way up. They look like the scary trees in Sleeping Beauty or something. But make beautiful Candlestands & sticks. I love Laura Ingles, when I grew up it was on the regular television. Some ppl. used to say I looked kinda like her, when I was a child. I loved Michael Landon, he was such a sweet man. It's a shame he died so young. What a speacial treat, you got to go & visit there home. Where is it at, I don't remember you mentioning a place? I have been to Springfield Mo. only once, it's about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. away from us. One of the biggest cuties even close to us. We live out in the country near a little town called Ewing Mo. Population 430 or dinething near that. You are so brave to go on a journey like that all alone, with the 3 girls. I have never been to an IKEA but would love to visit one someday. Our car isn't really trust worthy for long trips. That kinda stinks. But you get what you get as they say. You have such good restraint on not spending alot on things a great habit.

The houses were so cool! Unfortunately, we were there on one of the busiest days they have ever had. I wish we could have had more time to look through the houses, we felt a little rushed with so many people on the tour. We didn't want to hold up everyone else!

Hi Kristen. I am so sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. You have been through a real rollercoaster of emotions what with the move and all the uncertainties surrounding that. You are a super mom and never underestimate yourself. You care for 3 beautiful girls and a hubby and you do it with such grace. I am so impressed with how thrifty you are. Everything is so expensive now and we need to take a step back and make some really good choices as to how we are spending our money and you are a great example to follow. I enjoyed the road trip, especially seeing the Laura Ingalls Wilder property. I am in Canada but if I get a chance to make a trip out that way, that will most certainly be on my itinerary. Take care of yourself. Have a wonderful week ahead. 🤗💛🤗

I’ve had sometime off at work (finally) I went to a couple of thrift stores, I never find artwork that is like what you have on your walls…which I love. I asked the guy if he gets new art very often. He let me go through a shed that he stores extra in and there wasn’t anything even close. I did get two shirts and pair of jeans, navy dress pants and a really cool cookbook all that for $20!

*This was a really FUN video, Kristin❣️ You have taught your children well...your oldest daughter handled items in the antique store carefully and respectfully. Most children her age, even though capable of this, haven't been taught these skills. My parents were Antique Dealers with 5 kids, and we were taught at a VERY YOUNG age how to respectfully handle and care for things to make them last for as long as possible. 😊💕💜* *The "Little House on the Prairie" books 📚 and TV 📺 show were perennial favorites in our house...such wholesome stories that demonstrated how the love ❤️ and faith in a family can carry you through even the most devastating tragedies.☝️ ✝️ I can imagine how wonderful it was to see Pa's fiddle, Mary's Braille book and other memorabilia used by the Ingalls-Wilder family❣️😊 Your daughter's will cherish those memories for a lifetime. 😉 I liked how you even used the daffodils as a teaching moment. 💛🍃*

I grew up 45 minutes west of Springfield just off I-44. Our spring break from school my family would always take a day and go make the rounds of all the thrift stores, pawnshops, and an antique store or two. Brings back memories! 🙂 also the rose years books might actually make the Laura ingalls wilder house make more sense. I’ve been to this one and also the actual little house cabin in Wisconsin. They’re so interesting if you’ve read the books.

*Kristen, don't put that mug into your microwave...old pieces like that were not made for the microwave (it hadn't been invented yet). That's why mugs and dishes are labeled "microwave safe" nowadays. The mug could EXPLODE in your microwave‼️ At the very least it will crack and break (maybe not right away, but eventually, over time - and THEN, perhaps explode.) and/or it may DESTROY your microwave, especially if it is ironstone. Ironstone has IRON in the clay to make it strong - and metals are NOT GOOD IN MICROWAVES...ask me how I know all of this...I learned THE HARD WAY‼️☹️*
@KristenHoffman2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the heads up! I did a little research on it, and turns out it is porcelain, which is microwave safe. The mug hasn't gotten hot at all when I've used it in there over the past couple days. Just the coffee inside.
