Hello everyone, my name is Julie and on Thrilled Thrifter you will find that I absolutely love thrift shopping.(Especially for home decor!) I share all things thrift here on my channel to teach you how to go thrifting for your home, family and friends. {I'm not a reseller!} I mostly thrift at Goodwill, yard/garage sales, FB marketplace, antique stores, estate sales and so many other local thrift stores. I believe you can make your home beautiful on a thrifty budget! Oh my goodness! Those kinds of yard sales don’t come along often. What a great find! Aren’t you glad you turned around. I know those urns are brass, but all I can think of when I look at them is cremation urns. Not sure I could have those in my house. 😂 I love the Junior better homes & garden cookbook. I have that exact Jr. Cookbook!! I got it when I was about 10yrs. old & cooked or tried nearly everything in it! I will be 60 in January & still have the cookbook 😉

Hi Julie! I know you buy books at thrift stores and garage sales. Did you know that putting them in the freezer for 24 - 48 hours will kill bugs and any germs. How to information can be found under search. Thank you for sharing today.

Julie the Currier and Ives ( I’m not sure if I spelled that correctly or not) tin can also be used as trays . You can take both sides off at the same time. I used to have a similar can just like that one.

Julie, you can find some of the neatest items, the tin is so beautiful and double sided to boot. I am gonna say the ginger jars?? (LOL)are the big deal. They look to be pure brass. Awesome find. ❤😊

Enjoyed going to the garage sale with you. I thought you would have bought that lamp you looked at when you first got there. It was pretty. There were so many good things there and couldn't beat her prices. Love the brass urns.

Oh goodness Julie! I have the exact same cookbook that my mom gave me in the 70’s and I actually made a lot of the recipes- I think there’s a recipe for egg nog that uses raw eggs😊

Lol, those are ginger jars they were popular when i got married. People at ceramic shops were also making them out of ceramic. I have a set of brass and ceramic.

Wow! What fun to find treasures and being spontaneous! We hardly have any yard sales here where I live! We have some good thrift stores though, thank goodness. Funny story. I bought one of those brass urns through an online estate auction, and when I picked it up, it still had some ashes in the bottom of it. 😮😂 I'm hoping it was just someone's pet and not grandma, though. 😢

Your ginger jars/ urns are used to hold cremains. They are expensive at funeral homes.

We don’t have any thrift shops near us but lots of garage sales from May until October. I love your excitement at the garage sales, the thrill of the hunt for us too. I hate it when they say make an offer because you hesitate to start a pile not knowing what it will be but sometimes I’ve come home with a carload of very old primitives for $20 for all❤

I have always thought ginger jars were glass and urns were metal or something like that. Don't know why I think this but just have always thought that. I saw a lot of things I would have picked up. You are much better about that than me. Good puchases.
