Just made this cake with a few substitutions and it came out great! Haven’t made the frosting yet but I’m sure it’ll be amazing. I used bobs red mill gluten free flour, apple cider vinegar instead of white, and a heaping cup coconut sugar as the sweetener divided into three 6” pans. I love the fact you don’t need to use flax eggs or any egg substitute for that matter. They puff up really well. I love Megans little side remarks she has such a great personality. She makes me laugh. I’m a new fan of her and thrive market!

Another Chef Megan dance party! The chocolate ganache goes with just about everything; super jazzed. Nice Judy Moody allusion, too.

Hello again! I have tried the recipe twice, and both times the cake came out too dry and crumbly. I couldn't work with it (for a cake because it feel apart) so I used the crumbles to do cake pops and they were perfect, although it wasn't my original plan. The second time I tried the recipe, I added a bit more vinegar, baking soda and coconut oil, hoping that the wet ingredients would make the cake a bit less dry and crumbly. It didn't work though. The cake still came out really dry and crumbly. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or if the ingredients that I'm using are not the best ones (maybe my bleached almond flour is too dry?). Please let me know your feedback, it is really important for me to get this cake right and I appreciate your time for teaching us this.

Thank you for sharing. Just in time for my daughter's 22nd birthday. Since I became a vegan just months ago, I had to find a vegan and gluten free cake recipe. (I am gluten intolerant, as well) I can't wait to try this recipe. I usually make the chocolate cake from the back of the Hershey's cocoa (which is always a hit with family and friends. I always get asked to make this cake.) So, if this is a hit with my kids, you can be sure this will be a keeper! I'll let you know how it goes. Daughter's birthday is in 2 days.

My chocolate ganache was too sticky and couldn't spread it at all. I found out at the end when cleaning the bowl that there was a lot of chocolate stuck onto the bowl walls and it was solid so it didn't mix with the rest of frosting. Could you give me a feedback for this? Thank you so much!

You used almond flour n gluten free flour-so if your gf flour was different from almond flour-what was it? Was it a blend?

Just add normal flour or chick pea flour, but then use extra cocoa powder

On your website, the recipe lists 2 tsp baking powder but I do not see you adding it in the video. As far as I know all vegan cakes do need baking powder, so do I add it or not?

If you using baking powered, leave out the baking soda and vinegar.
