🇿🇼 ZIMBABWEAN BREAD: In a bowl, mix maize meal, flour, salt, sugar, and water.
On coals, place a pot. In the pot add flour. Then pour in the mixture above. Cover with a plate and put coal on top. Let cook for 20 min.

Kinshasa PR. You are correct in my opinion. I used to watch regular TV and saw so many of these types of productions. About the only one that sticks in my mind was a TV show from years ago. An older, silver-haired Greek(?) guy who traveled Europe searching out old culture foods. It was the first time I'd seen that maggot-cheese and this man was sitting on a hillside with a couple of old blokes, chowing down on this cheese. That kinda grossed me out. But with Sonny's productions, I'd happily try any of the foods he eats...but perhaps not anything cooked with stomach bile. Pretty sure, based on experiencing the smell of a burst bile sac in an animal carcass once...yeah, nah. But I'm game. I used to make Green tree Ant tea because it's awesome stuff.

@Fix Her Also I been to Nigeria in several cities, where are endless crooks and also merciless bandits and armed groups, each bus travel from 1 city to another can be hosted with a rifle man as a guard. Danger can occur anytime, especially at nights. The time I came to Igbo land (Biafra), the igbos were showing lots of anger against other tribes especially to Yorubas and no tolerance to Hausas since their are Muslims. I was truly shocked.

My first world prejudice had me believing those who lived so far away couldn’t possibly have anything modern or semi self sustaining. I watch shows like this to further learn more about my African ancestors. I still don’t know what African peoples I descend from so I try to learn about them all.

I know, right? And not only in Africa. As far as I know, some sort of flour mixed with water either is or used to be a staple all over the world. Like, in medieval Europe, before the advent of corn and potatoes, I am pretty sure I read somewhere that porridge made with stuff like wheat, barley, oats, etc. used to be eaten a lot by the lower classes.
