The next reaction MUST for Faouzia is "Fur Elise (live performance)"... the version found on her Faouzia channel which was uploaded 9 months ago and currently has 2.3 million views. There are other versions and performances of the song, but I think the great majority of Faouzia fans would agree this version is THE DEFINITIVE version.

Dimash was indeed a guest star at this Singer 2024 competition, but he is not in this video. Faouzia expressed her desire to sing with him in a duet in the competition program, but the organizers of the competition preferred to unite Dimash with Chante Moore. We are infinitely happy about their duet, but now we are starving for a duet of Dimash and Faouzia :D

Dimash sang a song but sang with another contestant in the final 2 episodes of Singer 2024. The guy you thought was Dimash was her interpreter for the first few episodes. And yes, that was Adam Lambert. He was a guest for this episode and was blown away by her riffs and runs, commenting at one point ‘when does she breathe?!?’. Great reaction!! ❤❤❤

It lets us see his talent once again. The best showcase for Faouzia where she exhibited to the world her talent, her virtuous personality and of course her beauty and as witnesses Dimash Kudaibergen, Chante Moore and Adam Lambert. When she sang " Shallow " in this show Dimash was watching his performance with great interest.

I had just about given up on you. As much as I love AJ's music, given the choice between AJ and Faouzia it's a 50-50 chance - Maybe even a slight edge to Faouzia. 'Singer 2024' is a unique talent show that bills itself as entirely live, with only 'one take' and no pitch correction or autotune. It is unique in that all contestants are international with established work and by invitation only. The known (to me) singers brave enough to accept the challenge this year are Faouzia, Adam Lambert and Dimash. I don't know who all was invited and opted out. I've recently discovered your show and it has helped me hugely in understanding and appreciating music, and I'm looking forward to your analysis of this performance. Thanks so much.

The yodel is a standard middle eastern Arabic yodel (a bit of a lament i would say) that translates to “night, oh night” (layly ya layl )and the riffs/scales include the Middle Eastern North African ones as well so its not just a throw away yodel. I believe that Sting grew up in Lebanon for a bit and that’s why he incorporated it into this song as you hear the yodel in many traditional songs over there in addition to including the Algerian singer and Arabic music of course. Also the riffs are typical of north africa middle east and some countries in central asia with a Turkic influence like Dimash’s Kazakhstan which is why they sound very similar.

Living in diverse societies also help identify the different cultures and music. If one lives near mosques, at call to prayer you will hear these quarter tones. I love the scale, and the dissonances.

The Arabic part of the song was written by Cheb Rabah, an Algerian musician. Sting, who grew up in England, said that he didn't know much about Arabic music yet he wrote Desert Rose after hearing elements of Arabic music combined with Western dance music in an English nightclub.
@adinet224418 күн бұрын
Arabic yodel? You mean زغاريت? this is a long high pitched vocalization performed by ladies to express joy at weddings or celebrations and it is common in the Middle East. "Yodel" is German. Yodeling is a vocal technique that most commonly associated with the mountainous regions of Europe, especially Switzerland and Austria, where it is a traditional folk song style developed among the Alpine people. It is not primarily associated with Arab culture at all. I guess your comment contains a number of mistakes. But as it has nothing to do with Faouzia, forget it

The man you thought was Dimash is her translator on the show. Each foreign singer on the show has a translator and this man was hers. Dimash was on Singer 2024 but as a guest in the finale. And he was also a guest star in the special episode following the finale. Dimash and Faouzia met the first time on the finale and then in that special episode I just mentioned and recently they were both honored at the Diafa Award in The UAE and they met there too. Fans are asking for a duet so finger crossed 🤞

Faouzia sang “Shallow” with Jason Zhou on the final night of Singer2024. Dimash sang “Lose Control” with US contestant Chanté Moore. Dimash and Chanté were electric. The “Shallow” duet suffered in comparison IMO because 1) Faouzia and Jason’s voices are too similar, and 2) Faouzia doesn’t have the performance experience with a partner to bring in something extra. They did much better singing “Shallow” live at Jason’s concert days later. Faouzia was a surprise guest and the +50,000 in the audience gave her a nice reception. It was Adam Lambert’s, caught on camera reaction to Faouzia’s “Desert Rose”, the night he was there, that echoes ours “When does she breathe? It’s packed.” Fans are clamoring for a Faouzia - Dimash duet, and I expect it will happen, but I think Faouzia - Adam Lambert would be way more fun.
@ju1ietta20 күн бұрын
Oh, why contrast and compare? Is there a choice for only one single collab? Let Faouzia, Lambert and Dimash sing with each other and with a million other singers in any variation of duets or trios... The more diverse collaborations, the better

I think the likelihood of a collaboration with almost anyone has increased markedly now that label interference has subsided. Only time will tell.

Mmm, I don't think Faouzia sounds anything like Chinese singer Jason. He has a feminine tone actually. IDK, but the "fans" you're referring to are probably mostly dimash fans who have watched some clips from chinese singer2024 in recent months...Some of them also like Faouzia and watch her reaction videos but I'm not so sure if they listen to Faouzia's songs like her fans do. Although I believe Adam would be an excellent choice among those male singers China invited to the show, it is still up to China to determine who Faouzia will perform with at next year's show. Actually she's wonderful on her own. She doesn't necessarily have to collaborate with anyone. I'm just looking forward to Faouzia's upcoming album.

Wonderful you guys came back with more Faouzia! Too bad you didn't choose the Abu Dhabi version. It's even better. She is clearly itsy bitsy uncertain and not so accurate here. But in Abu Dhabi live she is just magnificent. But all in all she is just great with those Arabic trills and runs and those Arabic scales. It's so hard for us "common people" sing like that. Almost impossible. And her voice and range is incredible, even though it's not totally revealed in this song. But you should really do more Faouzia reactions, and preferably of her own songs. She is great songwriter and she really deserves all the attention and praise she can get. Thanks! TTKing 😎

istg I'm really tired of people projecting their own feelings onto her. Let me just say this: she's a girl who values her religious traditions, is super friendly, playful, and sweet-not arrogant at all. I've seen many of Dimash's fans making up all kinds of things about Faouzia, claiming she's arrogant and pretending to be high and mighty to attract Dimash's attention right on their fan accounts on youtube. All this just because she kept her distance in photos and avoided eye contact with him. Please, she's Muslim, and in Islam, she's supposed to maintain a certain distance from men.

Thanks guys. Also from Singer2024: Richard, I think you would appreciate Faouzia's cover of Gaga's "Paparazzi". Johnny, she's at the piano for a nice cover of Bruno Mars' "Grenade". For something different, she redid Eiffel 69's Eurodance track "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" and it's not like the Bebe Rexa version either. And I'll echo everyone's suggestion of her March 2024 video "Fur Elise (Live Performance)" - it's not concert style, more a 'one take' audio.

The Melismas with microtones are a feature of Arabic music and scales, absolutely. Which is where Dimash gets the influence -- he isn't an Arab but he is Muslim and Kazakh culture has many links to Islamic art and culture. The person highlighted in the audience is Li Jin Ye, described in Chinese media as her "music partner". Not sure what that means
@ahaday19 күн бұрын
Melisma is not exclusive to Islamic culture. It predates Islam by centuries, if not thousands of years. Kazakhstan has no Arab influence, they are heavily influenced by Russia and the former Soviet Union, and their folklore is influenced by Turkic culture (not Türkiye). Although after independence they re-established the Muslim faith, it was only in name. They do not practice Islam in the same way that Arab countries do, Instead, they are entirely secular and the most alcoholic Central Asian country.
RIP Abdou Chérif , l’a chanté en anglais à la perfection encore mieux que Fouzia !!….😢😢
