The 2023 Ferrari 296 GTB ($444,287 USD as spec’d) is a hybrid mid-engined V6, capable of an astonishing 818.6 horsepower and has an electric-only range of up to 15 miles (25 km). This may not be Ferrari’s first foray into hybrid power, but it is the first road-going Ferrari to sport a V6. The 296 GTB aims to be both playful and practical, but does the hybrid V6 live up to the Ferrari name? And to its price? Thomas and James spend some time to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode. The sounds that guy can make are really amazing, great review and I'm shocked Ferrari still gives you cars.

We gotta admit, it's a great car, and reviewed by an even greater team. But, at $440k, I would be seriously looking at an 812 superfast in a heartbeat.

What's absurd is that manufacturers are ditching hard buttons right as cars are getting incredibly quick and responsive. When you're traveling so quickly and don't have much time to use the use the controls, that's exactly when you want hard buttons you can use by feel. McLaren still understands this, and that is one of their advantages over Ferrari. I remember someone at Audi being asked why the e-tron GT has more physical buttons compared to other Audis and they said because the e-tron GT is so quick and physical buttons are easier to use in a very quick car. Capacitive touch buttons are ok to use when stationary but inappropriate when moving.

They keep calling it an entry-level Ferrari, wouldn't that be the Roma or Portofino?

Has anyone else noticed how amazing the video quality has become? Fantastic light and depth!

As many have said, you guys are proper descendants of the Clarkson-era Top Gear but without being a tacky imitation. These are properly entertaining car videos. I mean part of me is like "wonder what Throttle House could do with Netflix/Amazon budgets if they had this on a streaming service" but im more than happy to enjoy what you do on KZbin!

Your reviews of Ferraris are the reason why I trust you more than literally any other journalist. You’re able to fully admit this it’s practically a perfect sports/super car, but aren’t die hard apologists who are willing to pass off the interior UI as merely quirky or “difficult to get used to.”

The 296 looks absolutely wonderful, can't help but imagine it will be a future maintenance nightmare though.

I'm not sure which I enjoyed more, the sublime mechanical specimen of the 296 or listening to that guy doing the imitations. His 2JZ imitation was my favorite.

I just wanted to say you guys are the best. I love that your quality is even higher, and I'd love 30 minute to hour long episodes of a car show featuring you two. I'd subscribe to whatever streaming app that was on in a heartbeat.
