This review made me think of this little rubric which could be used for the basis of a random generator for dream creatures: The creature is a (creeping, sneezing, hopping, quivering) (blue, soft, ashen, cold) (doll, caterpillar, judge, catapult) with [choose one] (tiny, red, jagged, soulless) (eyes, stripes, hinges, claws) [or] (a trowel, the bible, a cicada, a throne) for its (hands, eyes, sword, shoes) [or] (wings, bricks, teeth, lies) in its (tail, coat, heart, eyes). Enjoying the reviews! Hope someone's imagination is kicked off by this.

Informative and inspiring. You've given me some great ideas for my own campaign just by listening to you.

Always love me some Dream-themed RPG content. Been recently working on something akin to that for my current campaign and one of the Planar locales of my cosmology, probably with some Lovecraftian influences.

Oh man that's gorgeous. I'm positively weak for zines so this is right up my alley. Also, oh a related note my copies of Mothership just got delivered today! Can't wait to go home & grab them then completely derail tonight's D&D session... Additionally that teaser from next week looks really nifty. Still have my old 2nd ed Sha'ir's handbook kicking around at home mostly held together with Scotch tape (don't judge me, I was 12 when I grabbed it). Played a Sha'ir for a grand total of two sessions before he was disemboweled by an invisible sorceress while waiting on my little genie dude to come back with a spell.

The God being a physical/metaphysical part of the setting sounds like a really Weird Tales/Lankhmar feel to it.

Wow, I've actually found an awesome artisan RPG zine that's still in print!

Sounds like that last book might have been inspired by a comic published by First in the early to mid- 80's called "The Black Flame."

So this module really intrigues me but there's just one thing I can't for the life of me figure out (perhaps because I'm very new to OSR content): what game is this supposed to be used with? In a specific edition of D&D? In a D&D clone? Or is it supposed to be used with any system of your choice and you tweak it a bit? At the moment the only D&D system I have is 5e, but I'm happy to invest in a more old-school system if there's one you recommend. at 3:50 you say it's "probably written for very early editions of D&D" so does that mean it doesn't really matter what system you use?

Exactly. Most OSR systems are compatible with each other with very minor tweaking. Old School Essentials, B/X D&D, LotFP, Basic Fantasy, etc should all work fine.

Really love your reviews. One question: Any recommendations for a good book with small challenges / traps / interesting things to put in a dungeon or any weird place? I got the blue medusa but it's really hard to mine it because I definitely want to run it at some point.

Sounds like what you need is the Tome of Adventure Design. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZekaX6OqaeYq7s

No Ben, but I've gotten some good use out of The Dungeon Alphabet, and The Fourthcore Alphabet for randomly generating dungeon elements.
