Yogurt product with 90% lower carbs? No wonder it did not taste good and it needed active advertising to try to sell. Carbs include sugars, but a 90% reduction most likely means it has little or no added sugar. I think most people would agree that plain/unsweetened yogurt is quite unpleasant for direct consumption. Sugar makes things taste good. But for some reason, there has long been some kind of pseudo religious war against sugar in US society. However, sugar is too sweet to fight back and defend itself against the anti-sugar villain forces. Sugar needs a less sweet champion/ally to fight on its behalf. Glucose and fructose sugar molecules are relatively simple molecules, at least, compared to other hydrocarbon food molecules such as proteins, which are very complex. It is conceptually possible to industrially fabricate simple sugar molecules in a factory setting, likely using electricity, CO2, and water inputs, without the need for vast amounts of farmland, irrigation water, and conventional agriculture inputs like synthetic natural gas derived fertilizers.
