I had a pair but returned it. While the length was ok, but the vamp was a bit tight. Unfortunately this model does not come with wider size.

I ordered 1/2 size down on these as recommended and had to send them back to go to my normal size 11. Extremely difficult to pull on these boots...no way without a shoe horn. I feel the width is a bit narrower than my D width. Awesome leather and I know they will stretch over time....but I am a bit disappointed on how my socks don't slide when putting on and I struggle....that said, once they are on they feel good...some break in expected. I have had these for 2 days and I'll give you an update in a couple of weeks.

Peter- thanks for watching and an insightful comment! These definitely run smaller, as compared to other Thursday boots styles in same size. They are comfortable and unique but I do agree that they are somewhat of a pain when putting on. I found that getting a shoe horn greatly helps, as well as unlacing them up top completely, to give yourself extra room.

@@olegkaderly5638 Oleg, several wears later and the fit is right by going with my normal size. You are correct that I have to loosen all the laces to pull on and off...no big deal. The strong leather smell (how they are processed in tobacco color?) leaves me opening the window in my car a crack. I've had to explain to a couple of passengers that my boots are a high quality product and to take it all in. Love Thursday's and am looking at the loafers now.

Im a low volume foot and wear a ten in sneakers too but I wear an 8.5 Thursday. My first pair was a 9 and they were too big.

Thanks for sharing! I personally felt like these were too snug for me at 9.5D and I probably should have gone up to 10, to gain additional versatility of being able to wear these with various sock types. Thursday seems to tinker with their lists quite a bit. I’ve purchased a few different pairs of boots from them over the years, and they seem to vary even within the same style grouping.

Nice review. Just ordered the same ones. Was going back and forth between tabaco and moca . Went tabaco as i couldnt find any reviews on the moca version. Went with my regular size 10 as you mentioned they run more snug in width . I had went half size down in the scout 9.5 and had to send back as they were too tight . I also didnt like having only the 2 eyelets . I think im going to like these a lot more .. im also curious about the smell everyone keeps mentioning lol.

They do run smaller/ tighter than your normal Thursday boots, imo. Going sown by half of a size worked for me. Hope it does for you, too

Hey Oleg - Thanks for your review. There are very few reviews on the Cadet. And how are they 2 years later? I just purchased a pair of Cadet in the new Rich Mahogany color. Wanted something that was gonna be good to run around in but also can be dressed up. going to London and Paris in December so i think they will get some good usage. I own a pair of the Midnight blue suede Scout and a brown and grey Cavalier. the Dukes did not fit me. I had to exchange them 3 times then discovered that the Cavalier are not as wide. Wished someone at the the company would have saved me some time in that process.. but I love the ones i have even though they don't get a lot of wear living in LA and because of the Pandemic (where did i go?). Anyway, thank you again for your review.

William- thanks for watching and commenting; happy to hear that this information serves someone well! Because of my considerable boot collection/ rotation, the Cadets don't see as much daylight as they probably should.. honestly, I probably take them out all of 1-2 per month and at this time, they are just starting to break in as they should. With that being said, I have experienced a lot of other boot brands/ models since I purchased the Cadet pair over 2 years ago, including Grant Stone, Parkhurst, Taylor Stitch, and Sutro, to name a few.. as such, I am more keenly aware of what makes one boot better than another.. I feel like Cadet is a really good pair that straddles casual and business casual fairly well (due to the Tobacco makeup of my pair). Thursday design is sleeker and of a lower profile/ silhouette than some of the other "Americana" heritage brands, thus making them more versatile in terms of outfit pairings and occasions. I bust them out whenever I go out on a town with some friends, to the office during the week, and have taken them on a few trips out of state, which involved a decent amount of walking.. again, I have rotated other pairs in and out, thus not really spending too much time in any one particular pair, but can say with confidence that the Cadet feels and performs well!

They are cool for sure; run a bit narrow. Definitely a tighter fit as compared to the captains. Thursday says they are more of a versatile boot that goes with everything. But to me, these are definitely more of a dressy boot. Tobacco leather makes it interesting. They age nicely. Just took them on a weekend trip and walked about 5-7 miles in them. No blisters anywhere and they hold up beautifully.

I had two pairs, Captain, and oak brogue Wingtips. The faux Danite glued sole separated and split on both pairs within 6 months. And, yes, they laud their goodyear welt, however their cheap build and materials lack as compared to the next level. eg. Allen Edmonds.... and that's a big leap btw. Thursday are worth the little you pay though... but no more; especially after the 70 to 100 $ resole factors in .

Thanks for watching- I do have separate videos on Red Wing boots as well. I’m being that I am a standard 9.5D on brannock device, I was able to fit comfortably in both Iron Ranger and Blacksmith boots (last#8) size 9D. I got fitted professionally by Red Wing shoe specialist, who actually recommended sizing down to 8.5D, and while I initially thought they were pretty snug, I grew to like the fit over time. I own several pairs of Iron Rangers and Blacksmith boots now, all in 8.5D and they all broke in very nicely. I do think that that going down half size from your sneaker size is a good decision with Thursday boots. In my case, I usually go with size 10 sneakers and ended up going with my standard 9.5D in Thursday which proved to be best fit (i did go with 9D a few times, and they were too right in the toe box). Thursday return/ exchange policy is super easy, so you should no trouble swapping out if the need arises. One of the drawbacks of Thursday brand, is that their fit can be a bit inconsistent, even across the same boot styles. This is due to several different lasts being used to produce the same boot style. Always a bit of gamble, but as mentioned above- an easy thing to rectify if something doesn’t fit right.

Hey there- they are every bit as comfortable and versatile as they’ve been advertised to be. Definitely became softer and easier in my feet, even more so than in the beginning. I do appreciate these a lot, especially since they go equally well with a casual as well as slightly more dressy outfit options

I originally went down to 9D with my Captains, but those were too tight, so I ended up going with 9.5D in Captains and subsequently in Cadets. The Captain is built on a larger/ wider last, while Cadet is a narrower boot that runs on the smaller side. 9.5D in Cadet is a better fit on my foot.

Darby319 , I’d say do 9D. Thursday boots has a very easy, hassle-free return/ exchange policy. Worst case, if things don’t pan out, you’ll be able to size up/ down and have new pair within a week.
