Great new look to the Captains, I love it. I have the same sole on my Chippewa service boots and they are long lasting and comfortable, great sole over-all. It was a fantastic choice you went with the light welt, midsole and heel stack ........ you have taken the Thursdays next level looks wise !!!

That cheap leather board or paper board these companies use to save money on heel stacks and insoles is complete crap not to mention plastic welting. My favorite thing is seeing people recrafting boots with old school materials that will actually last a lifetime instead of this throw away junk that makes people needing boots every year or two ,thank you for caring so much about your craft and your customers

@@AaronG2480 Okay sorry I meant no offense. Now very curious will have to look into that. The only thing I’ve seen was that with the outsole glue and stiffness of the stitch acts like little pegs, it doesn’t matter if the stitches wear off the bottom of the sole? Excellent work by the way the finished boots look beautiful 👍🏼

@@aradoran No offense taken sir, I just mentioned it cause most of people complain about me not doing it, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing it but is not always necessary. Gracias por el saludo. Quedaron hermosas esas botas, le traigo ganas a una Thursday, hay unas en negro mate que están bien chulas pero creo que es medio difícil mantener su color original. En su construcción a cuál le vas más? A las Iron Ranger o a estas ? Me refiero a la calidad de los materiales, la mano de obra todo eso. Ya tengo mis iron ranger pero tengo esa duda porque las Thursday están hechas en León, Guanajuato y he visto algunos videos donde lo ven como una desventaja que sean fabricadas aquí en México, si crees que estén a la altura de los estándares americanos ?? A lo mejor no duran lo mismo que unas iron pero sí aguantan unas dos o tres resoles no ?

Que tal Oliver, la verdad no hay punto de comparación entre ellas, las Rangers sobre salen por mucho, como decimos en mexico, se las llevan de calle a la Thursday Boots, en mi opinion personal este tipo de botas son para usarlas una ves y bye bye, por lo general la gente no va a gastar en una reparación más, de lo que vale un zapato, excepto en algunas excepciones, este cliente en particular no le gustaban las suelas que traía, y simplemente mando cambiar el estilo, que por cierto costo más que las botas, pero el así lo quiso, trabajos completos son un poco costosos, pero las botas son buenas la verdad. You tacked the toe down with clinch nails? Didn’t they come up into the footbed? Usually the insole would be removed for that so they clinch into only the lasting board.. otherwise you’d have bent over nails underneath your toes. Kinda unnecessary in this case.. I’m curious though, you left the nails in the bed? 🤔

These were size 12 it can only Be done on small sizes that’s why you’ve never seen it, not all 360 degree welt boots are suitable for half soles. Big sizes are wider than any half soles, that’s why we can’t do it.

Why exactly didnt you cut a channel? Honestly not cutting a channel is pure laziness and for you to say it's "not necessary" is beyond me. Why is it done in the first place if its not necessary? Its pretty cut and dry the fact that the channel protects the thread a little longer...
