I think the decision to not use stands was actually a really good one since there are no other stand users in the TV adaptation (except for one other person with a "gift"), and while the pages and turning the books thing might come across as lazy to some, it's better than a poorly CGI'd stand.

@@szatan9717 OVA means Original Video Animation, and it's used to refer movies or series that are exclusively available in DVD/Blu-ray/VHS/whatever, I think it also counts for releases exclusive to streaming services, the thing is that (atleast during the release) an OVA cannot be seen in theaters or TV (sometimes OVAs become available on TV after time passes and the license is acquired). So basically OVAs are beta productions, normally based on an already existing franchise, that at first come exclusively in physical release, I've seen people call the Phantom Blood movie an OVA, but that's of course incorrect, since it was released in theaters and there's no physical copies released for the public.

The reason why Heaven's Door literally turns people into books in the 3rd episode is due to filming restrictions put into effect due to covid-19. Basically they couldn't have Rohan's actor getting close to people's faces so they had to compromise

I never watch or read Jojo's Bizzare Adventure before. Never finish to watch live action of DiU because I didn't like the CGI. Off topic but since you've been debunking a lot of the Araki forgot moments I have to ask do you wish that some of the theories that turned out to be wrong were true. For example do you wish that Dio's stand aka The World did have all of the powers of every stand user? Do you wish that the man you save Josuke when he was a kid really was Josuke time traveling to save his younger self? Me personally I don't mind that the man who saved Josuke was just a complete nobody but I hate the fact that he looks so much like Josuke. I mean he can have the hair because that's an important part of Josuke's character but I wish he had different clothing, wasn't beaten up and they actually showed his face because the first time I saw it I thought there would be a time travel plot involved before I found out about the interview about Araki debunking that theory.

I interpreted the TV Drama a bit differently. I assumed that it takes place in the Movie Universe, but not a flashforward. So, the events of the TV Drama would be before Rohan meets the group. I figured this because he doesn't know what a stand is, can't summon fully yet, and claims to have never used it on a kid before.

My interpretation is that Rohan used the description of a gift to easily explain to a non-Stand user what a Stand essentially is, since it is technically a gift/ability from the heavens. As for the child thing, I also interpreted it differently as Rohan never having had read a child that young before. Mao (at least in the drama) seems to be about 4-5 years old. Hayato and Ken were both 11 in part 4, so the difference physically is distinct.

Honestly, i wouldnt mind a PH feedback tv drama with this style, it would be a nice way to see the story in this style, and it would be a nice way to separate the diferent jojo fans and the posers. Overall, i thougth the tv drama was okay, but thats mostly because i dont like live action that much.

i think i know why Rohan doesn't know that stands are called stands and why he says he's never used heavens door on a kid before i think the drama takes place before the anime that would also explain why we don't see the other characters and why Rohan meets his editor for the first time

I think it's an artistic choice to bring in new fans and not having them be confused on why people get Stands. Almost like in Avengers, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver aren't mentioned as Mutants, they call them "Miracles"
