SAT is today, and I need all the help I can get. Thanks for the video!

I love, love, LOVE this video. I had to buy two of these expensive calculators when my kids were in high school, and they have been sitting around for years. I TRIED to use them, but I couldn't even figure out how to compute 2+2. Now I can store variables and make graphs. I can't wait to learn Tables. Thanks!

When I was in high school , I had the TI-85 which was the best calculator available. A few years later, in college a guy in my calculus class showed me his cool new TI-89 (non-titanium) that could solve integrals. I think I ran out and bought one the same day!

@Jason Jackson any chances you know whats the highest rank/dimension of matrix you could write in? Did it work with at least 6×6 matrix?

Absolutely. Have been using it since the first HW1 version, it beats the fancy nspire with its overkill document philosophy and silly key layout any day.

I have this calculator and I really adore it. Recently though I have seen the benefit of having RPN (Reverse Polish Notation) on the HP range of Calculators. It would be nice if this calculator had that built in too.

Alone with HP 50g it was last calculator ever created, top of graphing calculator evolution, next models are just handheld computers like smartphones with terrible usability. TI 89 Titanium (as well as HP 50g) is ultimate machine for learning math. They never create something better :-( P.S. Look at TI 200 Voyage it has almost identical OS, but full QWERTY keyboard and larger screen. Something like "desktop" calculator for serious courses :-)

The menu is pretty ugly; our 87's casio fin calc had way better display. Should they'd at least doubled the res. (to cga320x200), I bet they could've doubled the sales even if they'd doubled the price.

I cannot beleive that you didn't simply show how to get the answer for division problems in decimal point....im not a math wiz. IU just trying to provide my 6th grade son a calculator to use in class, and we cannot get my old school calculator to solve division problems properly. I know 789/5.4. = 789/5.4. I need the actual answer....terrible video. You could have spent 5 seconds explaining how to use the basic functions, but you love multiplication and hate division apparently.....
@mediaphile2 ай бұрын
Hit the green diamond button, the one right under the blue 2ND button, and then Enter. It's labeled right on the Enter button as "≈" because it is often only giving an estimation as a decimal. Even if you forget, and it spits out another fraction, you can just press the green diamond button and Enter and it will run the same equation again and render it as a decimal. Preserving fractions is one of the strengths of this calculator, but it does mean you need an extra button press for decimals whenever you're working with fractions.

@@mediaphile Thankyou. My son and I finally figured it out. It's frustrating trying to get a "super-calc" to do basic math, when it's been almost 32 years since I used the damn thing....However, it is a testament to the calcs quality that it still works perfectly!
