I used to watch Looney Toons when I was a boy. My favourite was Wile E. Coyote chasing after the Road Runner. I actually found these cartoons entertaining. Despite being told that I might end up copying some of the same things I saw on TV, I never did.

I know! It's crazy that today's cartoon viewers would have a problem with yesterday's cartoons. I used to watch Wile E Coyote chasing after the Road Runner *("Meep! Meep!").* I used to enjoy watching Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny threatening to shoot him, and I particularly enjoyed watching Yosemite Sam shooting up wherever he happens to be, sometimes threatening to shoot Bugs Bunny.

My grandad worked for Technicolor after the war he used to do all the titles for films. He did a lot of bond films. And when I was like 5or6 years old he took me to pinewood studios for the day. We watched One of the old cartoons being chopped and spliced, edited’ they were editing out all the boring bits. Not the bits with the guns lol. The good old days.

Yea same here. You know what traumatized me? Seeing my Father come home drunk and beat my Mother. Cartoons were an escape from that crap. So was playing with plastic Soldiers in the dirt with my Friends. Building a Fort or a Treehouse, running and playing around getting my knees cut and scraped, and nose bleeds from getting into a fight at the playground. So much Trauma!! With all that "Trauma" growing up you'd think I'd be another Charlie Manson huh? Never got a gold star or trophy just for showing up with a pencil either!

Rocky and Bullwinkle was a classic! I'm surprised nobody has made an issue out of Underdog and his "secret energy pill". I have been in the room with kids playing video games that make any violence depicted in Loony Toons cartoons look benign. I think people have who have way too much time on their hands have chosen to over-analyze and attempt censorship of meaningless and benign entertainment so that other people can be as miserable as they are.

I too and my sister grew up watching all these cartoons and somehow without our parents even telling us we knew that it was just entertainment and we laughed and laughed because it was funny because it wasn't real!

This sounds to the same tune of my parents wouldn't let me listen to the song The Joker by Steve Miller Band but it was okay that I listened to the song Cocaine by Eric Clapton, the also one thing that parents do that tick me off, told me to shut up and then five yes five minutes or less later, ask me why am I being so quiet, and in my mind because if I said it out loud I'd get smacked if I responded back with HELLO. Hi Vic. The Looney Tunes never made me want to kill a rabbit or chase a road runner. I grew up in the 70s and 80s. What confused me is how come I never got to play with the Scrubbing Bubbles? I was scared to pee because I'd drown the Tidy Bowl Man. I never got to make friends with Poppin Fresh or Mrs Butterworth. I never got a crown from tasting Imperial margarine THATS WHAT TICKS ME OFF ! I always told my mom that maybe she could go to a different store because the store in our small town didn't carry the special cans or bottles. 😂

Vic,I have been watching your videos for a week now and I'm freaked with your comprehensive capable ability to understand the most basic and farthest reaches of the human condition...your take rant on the original presentation of what is truly one of the most animated comedic influences of my own life that it allowed me to live characters out in the open and away from the restrictions that societal conformity expected as a norm...Elmer Fudd is an iconic caricature of the truly violent capability of the average joe with a firearm.The genius of Mel Blanc and all his capacity to portray all these cartoon characters' is a gift that he shared and now we see they are willing to evade the real problem and a solution.Thank you Vic for saying it like is.
