I don't get people like that. Is body shape one of the most important things about a human? Is that one of the most important thing to have to fit in or something? Does it really represent who you are? No. Not at all. Your body image does not have to with who you are. Why do some people care about how other people look? It's not about the outside. It's about the inside of how someone is. And this doesn't just go with one kind. It goes with all. Male, female, child, adult, etc.

I don't feel Hannah is given any freedom as a character to make choices that display her character beyond conformity and acceptance. She has no food, so she buys food, where she gets weighed and ticketed by a cop, and then conforms to the legal expectations of a specific weight. The narrative has more to do with body policing than body shaming or body positivity, and ends on such a sour note that it takes on a pessimistic tone. In the context of this being a reflection of the real world, it says very very little about body shaming. When she's ticketed or "dieting," she doesn't seem upset or disturbed, but simply inconvenienced? Like, Hannah wins at the end without changing anything about her world but only by changing her body and conforming to expectations. It's an acceptance of this aspect of society rather than questioning it. Even if it was as little as one shot of her shedding a tear while puking into the toilet, that would give an actual opinion on the conformity required of her. This is the character we are supposed to most empathize with and see the world through their POV... are we supposed to accept and conform to body shaming?

Basically, the girl in this short movie thinks that women should have a "perfect body" and she's very insecure about herself and her body image, so she starts loosing inches, for being more "pretty" Remember, nobody have a "perfect" body shape, we're all perfect in our imperfections. This is so overly exaggerated. You can be as obese as you want in America and if you shame a woman for being fat, you’re getting cancelled. It’s totally acceptable for men though. Take any average grocery store for instance. There is always a plus size section for women even with plus sized models. Ever see that for men though? Nope.
