NOTE: During my example at 13:42, I demonstrate the cards in reverse. The first card I hold up should have been the green card and THEN the locomotive, not the other way around (I had likely reset for a second take and put the cards back in the wrong order. This should have been caught in the edit, but somehow completely flew past my brain. Sorry for any confusion that might have caused). Basically: do what I say, not what I do.

Teeny tiny mistake in the video: when Rodney is explaining at 13:54 that you can't draw a face up locomotive from the row if it's your second card, he's showing a green train card and not a locomotive card; the earlier card shown is a locomotive, so the two cards got mixed up in the shot.

Something I learned about trains at a train museum: a locomotive with a really wide, conical smokestack, such as the one on the locomotive cards, has a wood-burning engine. Not coal or oil.

I am excited about this new installment of Ticket to Ride, but I have a question: will the campaign be replayable, or will we be only able to play the 12 matches once? Having seen the writing using the pen (non erasable) and the place for the stickers (non detachable, I assume), I am a bit worried. In any case, great video!

I haven't played through the campaign myself (yet), but my understanding is that you can't replay the campaign again - you will however, be able to play Ticket To Ride once this is in its completed state.

Hi. Thanks for the excellent video. Others have asked but just to be clear, as I believe the video never mentioned, this is a "one-and-done" campaign, right? Meaning, after you played the 12 games the game is done and can't be repackaged for new players to play the campaign? Also, I see you mentioned that you don't know if the game can be played, with the alterations, after the 12th game. Might be a good question to have your sponsor reply and add to your video description or a pinned comment. Thanks

I just double checked my older notes (shot this awhile ago so didn't remember the answer to this off hand) - yes, you will have your own unique board that can be played on after the campaign is over. You can't repackage the campaign and start over from the start though.

Hi Fabio, I avoid giving recommendations on play counts for games. What one group enjoys at a smaller player count, another group may want more. I prefer to stick to just presenting the rules. Hope you enjoy playing if you get a chance!

Hi, Just opened the box and reading the instructions, but have a question - do the same players, or the same number of players have to continue through all steps of the 12 game sequence? Or can we start with 3, add another for round 2 and so on? A changing line-up depending on who is available. Thanks!

It encourages players use the same group. I think the video mentions there are some notes in the rulebook for how to handle if someone misses a session though. I think if you skip to the back of the rule book you'll find some thoughts there?

When connecting to a large city to draw a card... Does the route have to be adjacent to the large city or can be through multiple routes to finally get back to the large city? New Orleans only has 2 routes coming off it... Could I potentially trigger the card draw 3+ times?

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. When you claim a route, it will only connect two cities (when you claim a route, you can't connect, or go through multiple cities at once. See here for an example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp2kaZeeatuYjKcfeature=shared&t=597). When you claim a route, if one of the two cities (on either end) is a large city, you gain the bonus. I hope that helps.

If we play the first game with two players, will that limit the game we end up with after twelve games because we have only set up two companies? If so is there a way we can overcome this? For example can we play two companies each i.e. be two players with two sets of cards etc.

That’s tough for me to answer. I played enough to teach players starting out, but haven’t had a chance to complete the campaign myself.

Question on events: Are Event cards universal (affecting all players) or does it only affect the specific player who drew the newspaper which triggered the event? For example: Reeves Rails Needs Assistance event card says "While this card is visible, if you claim a white route, collect 2." - I am a bit confused as it did not say "... if a player claims..." Would appreciate some enlightenment on the issue. Thanks!

It applies to everyone - in that case anyone who claims a white route is affected.

They are there to make large cities more visible, and make it less likely that someone forgets to draw a card (although there are plenty of other rules you can forget that appear through playthrough :) )

I'm not quite sure what you're asking as it relates to the first part of your question. You can play with any group of people, but you'll likely want to play through the campaign with the same group that started it. When the campaign is done, you can play on the finished map you've created. You can't repeat the campaign, but the game itself is still playable.

The changes are permanent, so you wouldn't be able to play the campaign through again from the start.

Sorry I can't help more with that. I don't like to try to offer whether others will find a game fun. I know games that some people don't enjoy at various player counts, while others have had fantastic times at those same player counts. It's all a matter of opinion, and I can't really say where someone else will find their own personal enjoyment. I prefer to just teach the rules, as thoroughly as I can, and then allow the viewer to assess if it looks like a good fit for their personal tastes. All the best!

I haven’t played through the whole campaign yet myself, but my understanding with this one is that you will be able to continue playing on your customized board once the campaign is done. You won’t be able to play the campaign again from the beginning, but you’ll have a playable version of Ticket to Ride that’s unique to the choice you made along the way. Does that make sense? I avoid trying to assess that, as it's so dependent on your play group. If you have players that take fast turns, the session length will be quite different than if you have several (or even one) player taking longer turns.

The parts for all 12 games are included in this one box. I only show the parts for the the first game, so that the surprises of the later games aren't spoiled in the video. You are meant to discover the new elements of the game as you play. BUt again, just to be clear, everything you need to play is in this one box (there aren't 11 separate games to purchase).

The modular foam inserts to keep all the cards "tight" in the shoe are designed that way specifically to allow additional thickness in the card shoe, so yes you can sleeve all the cards, just remove however many foam inserts as necessary to keep them tight.
