This was great! I'm never sure when buying a new filter, I like the explanations and demonstration. And the host put some personality into an aquarium filter test! I subscribed., this is cool!

Cant believe how long i hava try to get this filter on my hands. Nearest seller i found was in Spain and they had no possibility send it to here north. Next nearest sellers are from US, UK, Autralia. Not order from that far, socket not even work together with local one. Still trying to find reseller.

@FishyReview3 ай бұрын
I think you’re talking about an aftermarket part that’s out there? I don’t know about that but I have a video about a UV that works great.

Do I need to have the bag for matrix bio?
@letsgonow56419 ай бұрын
I will think you dont need it. Make sure you rinse the matrix really, really well its extremely dusty.
@FishyReview8 ай бұрын
I agree that it should be fine without the bag...just makes it easier to deal with if you ever take it out.

Of all your HOB filters, which brand is your favorite?
@FishyReview8 ай бұрын
I think this comes down to which ones have I had to mess with the least and that just keep running. That would have to be the Penguin Pro 275 and Emperor Pro 450.

Just bought one and noticed that the electrical cord is submerged in the water. Is there any risk of electrocution?
@FishyReview Жыл бұрын
I doubt there is any risk as long as the cord doesn’t get damaged. All internal pump filters will have a cord going into the water. Also pretty much every aquarium heater is meant to be fully submerged these days. You could connect your aquarium to a GFCI outlet to further increase the safety, but you would probably need an electrician to install it.

I know this video is 2 years old but if you still check on messages (i don't know how that works) how do you like the Tidal 55 compared to the Fluval C3? People seem to really promote the Tidal and say it's the best. I have been running the Fluval C3 (cut my own mechanical pads) and use Seachem matrix in the red bin and drip tray bin. I don't use carbon. I wonder if the Tidal 55 would be a upgrade? It would be for a 29 gallon planted Community tank. I subscribed.

I do keep up on comments but I guess I get a couple weeks behind sometimes! If we’re taking those two filters head to head, I would pick the Tidal. The funny thing is that I cleaned both today and they were quite overdue. They both cleaned up fairly easy but the Tidal was just so simple and I even popped open the impeller compartment to clean it off. The Tidal has a lot more flow than the C3 and goes a lot longer without clogging up. I also like the C3 a lot because of the wet/dry section but I can’t recommend it for any tank over 20 gallons after having used it for a couple of years. I’m planning to move it to a 10 gallon tank, in fact. The only thing that bothers me about the Tidal is that it only comes with a sponge and no finer floss material, but you can always add your own. Hope that helps and thanks for subscribing!

@@FishyReview Thank you for the info, and I just got my 1st Tidal 75 yesterday. I have been enjoying trying to get the best tips etc. Safe to say I know more about this filter than all the others I have bought over the last few years. One tip I was very impressed with was to cut some craft store mesh (that I think it's made for knitting ? ) Simple trick , he cut the mesh long enough to slide in the 1st slot far left and then the last slot of the skimmer .... The picture he showed his had a nice curve but I cut mine just long enough for it to be very flat which I think is perfect either way to prevent my floating plants and fish food from getting sucked up !!! The surface intake is the only reason that I didn't get one sooner to be a good fit since I have always been obsessed with surface dwelling fish !!! So whenever I am setting up the newest aquarium or rescaping one of the older ones I am just as likely to spend more time on the upper half and create a few low / no flow zones that always have a Zoo MED floating log or two depending on the size of the aquarium. Which will always be Home for my FAVORITE Betta fish. Definitely not always the favorite whoever's in the aquarium with him or her , but the last few years that's just been working very well knock on driftwood

If I only has 3 inches between the tank and wall will that tidel 55 still fit. I guess I could put it on the side of my 55 gallon tank. I am guessing it would not matter.

hey how come mine isn't bubbling from the bottom tube? I have it open but nothing comes out.
@FishyReview Жыл бұрын
Maybe I don't understand the question? No bubbles should come out of it. It draws water in from the bottom and up by the top.

Hello! Can i use a tidal 55 for a 15 gallon? Because the tidal 35 does not have much features or the intake pipe, so i really would prefer the 55, but it also might be a bit overkill. What do you think? Does smaller tanks matter?
@FishyReview10 ай бұрын
The only problem is that it would create a lot of flow for such a small tank but it depends on the preferences of the fish you keep in that tank.
@WhiteCloudAffinity10 ай бұрын
@@FishyReview what if i set the flow to mininum and keep a pre filter sponge/ guard? At mininum its only 30 or 50 gallons per hour flow rate

Would the 55 be good for a 38 gallon tall tank?
@FishyReview3 жыл бұрын
I think it would be. I feel like I would want 2 of them on a 55 gallon but I usually end up with a lot of fish.
@cholotg91772 жыл бұрын
I have 29 and a 55 is great just have to adjust the flow to your fish 🐠 needs
