Tie-Dye T-Shirt Pattern : Yin Yang Design

For todays tie-dye pattern I am demonstrating how to tie-dye a yin yang design on a t-shirt. This is a step by step tie-dye tutorial video where we cover the entire process starting with the drawing of our yin yang outline pattern on the shirt. Then we tie up the t-shirt using sinew and apply our procion dye to the shirt, and to finish up we let the dye batch for 24 hours, rinse in cold water to remove the soda ash while gradually increasing to warm/hot to remove the excess dye, and jump right into our reveal. Yup! I pre plan ages in advance, but you can still get surprised. I folded 2 shirts the same way, added dye the same way.... still ended up different from eachother

@@RiahsTieDye ya I know!!! I can't wait!!! I can't believe it all started with dip dying with RIT. I hated how sad my flour sack towels were beginning to look. All grey. I don't use bleach if I don't have to so I decided to color them. Aquamarine and black. They turned out AMAZING!!! Beyond what I had hoped. From then on I kept going and it led to a tie dye experiment with onesies for a new grandbaby and one t shirt in case I didn't like how it turned out. Yep it was Tulip I used. But they all turned out again better than I hoped and ever since then it's like.... Let's try this. Let's try these colors together. & it wasn't a simple fold either. I figured go bold or don't. I did. It was a double spiral folded in half so each spiral was on top of each other. I did a lemon and lime in the spirals and then the purple I did around the edges. It turned out pretty cool. It's like split. But I saw that you were using the Darhma so when I ran out I figured I would have to cause those colors are amazing and so many more to choose from!!! So excited!!! Thanks for your videos!!! You've truly inspired me!!! ♥️😊👏💯❗

@@barbarakuehl9214 that’s so incredible and I would have loved to see that double spiral. If anyone understands the desire to keep going and trying new things it’s me. I can 100% relate and honestly some of my best projects were actually done with Tulip kits which us I always recommend it for beginners. But once you use and get used to them high quality fiber reactive dyes and all of the wonderful color choices it’s really hard to go back after that😂😅. Thank you Barbara. Yeah! It’s a little more difficult because the pleat folds with probably be thicker but you would do it exactly like this.
