I love this pattern! I will be making one. This is a great idea as a retirement gift, for someone who wore ties in their daily career. When my son needed many ties for college, I went to Goodwill where you can buy ties for $1.00. This is on my 2023 projects list. Thank you Laura.

Beautiful!! I made a Tie Table Runner seven years ago. I used the QAYG method. I sewed the binding on using a bow tie or butterfly decorative stitch (they looked the same to me) that is available on my machine. 😘

How do you finish the piece after quilting? Bind with bias binding? Or do you put the tie piece face down on backing, stitch around, turn right side out and push out points ??

@@SewVeryEasy thanks! My husband has a collection of Jerry Garcia ties...they're very colorful and wild! My girls say that they each want a tie quilt made from their dad's ties o ce he's gone. Hopefully that won't be anytime soon and he'll have a lot of years to collect more before we actually get to use this pattern...but I might have to shop the thrift stores now and see what I can find...for practice you know?
