Aalto really shines in dual DPS compositions but doesn't have a lot of partners. He's similar to Changli where they aren't great as a solo hypercarry with a sub-dps supporting them, as seen in the video, but really shines when they can deal damage in 5-6 second bursts. He just needs an Aero DPS with less field time than Jiyan to reach his full potential. One day!

What's holding Aalto back for me is his gimmick. The idea of shooting through a wind tunnel to enhance your atk sounds cool until you realize it's stationary, even the big wall of his ult. Wuwa is a game with high movements so having a stationary mechanic in your kit is just useless. It's like the early version of Tachanka in Rainbow 6 where his turret is stationary instead of straight up being a machine gun.

@@hieple4164 lowkey if his ult shrouded a big area with mist and it did essentially the same thing the wall did it would make more sense since it would be Omni directional, useable with more characters, and it would fit with his trailer and the 1.3 black shores campaign. This wouldn’t even be that hard to make since it would basically be the shorekeeper ult but it buffs attacks and would spawn a bunch of decoys

One thing ppl ignore about Aalto that makes him genuinely s tier is that he is the only character in the game with guaranteed CC on any enemy type. His e taunt works on even calamity class enemies, allowing you to safely attack enemies while not needing to focus on dodging, parrying etc.

I actually recently built my aalto and I don't regret it at all. He's not quite on the level of my xiangli yao or changli in terms of actual build, but he's not far off. I have him at S5, though S6 isnt really that substantial anyways. His playstyle is *super* fun and while he doesn't quite have the dps of my xiangli or changli, he's so *so* much safer. He's the reason I was able to clear several tactical holograms on the hardest difficulty when I wasn't able to otherwise, and he made doing this recent reset of tower a lot smoother for me since I actually had a somewhat viable third dps to cover earlier floors (where as previously i was struggle bussing with them with a like lvl 60 danjin lol). Goated character, and I can't wait until a limited 5* that can benefit from his outro buff more fully comes out (i know jiyan exists but he's overall better with mortefi)

Using air attacks feels awkward to use at first, but at S3, they actually can make up a sizable chunk of Aalto’s damage since he has the highest air attack multipliers of the three pistol users that we have. For a main DPS role, the rotation starts from using Liberation first, then Skill, basic attack chain, jump and use 6-7 midair shots, then dash through the mist for generating Mist Bullets and repositioning. And since this all uses Stamina from being in the air, his passive that regenerates Stamina in Mist Cloak suddenly becomes a lot more practical.

Great video, I recently built him myself^^ I'm surprised you didn't mention Sanhua for his teammates though, she buffs his basic and middair attacks and does significant damage herself while giving him energy (as she regenerates a lot of energy for herself and he gets a part of it off-field) and has low field time, giving him time to do his full rotations. Imo it's his best main DPS team

One of the most pleasant characters to play for! Clones are fantastic if you have skill issues like me, for any bosses or high-level mobs. Mid-air attacks are a must, Static Myst is a must and really beneficial to pair him with Sanhua for 38% basic attack damage buff. Before the release of Chnagli, I've gone through most of overlworld content using Aalto, despite having fully built Jyian and Yinlin. And, while I have all characters in the roster, all limited 5 stars at 80 or 90 lvl, and all 4 stars are at S6, still love using Aalto, especially for hologram bosses.

Heres a story that may reflect aalto’s viability. I have a lvl 80 s6 aalto who’s only skill above 6 is his basic attack at lvl 8. Using static mist i teamed him with s5sanhua and s0shorekeeper to beat max lvl hologram inferno rider. His decoy is underrated.

Let’s gooo dps aalto main here, he has the highest mid air attack scaling among the three gun characters so use that behind his skill curtain! With the shorekeeper and sanhua buff, lv80 aalto did 4000 every shot and not bad for bosses imo

I use Aalto to solo bosses and he’s so dang fun. My “rotation” : Resonance skill to generate mist and clone-> Dash through the mist to get away from the clone-> basic attack 4 times to generate mist-> spam mid-air attack. By the time you fall back down to the floor your resonance skill should be ready (If you have S1), then repeat the whole process again. If done correctly, bosses will be complete unable to land a hit on you since the clone lasts as long as the resonance skill cooldown. (S3 is required for big dmg). While Aalto certainly lacks the multipliers of limited 5-stars, his kit is so op in solo fights it’s crazy. My echoes are sierra gale 2-set and lingering tunes 2-set, with fallacy of no return 4 cost. Since I use a solo playstyle, it’s annoying and inefficient to get the full sierra gale set’s buffs using intro skills. The lingering tunes set’s full buffs are also kinda clunky to get imo. The fallacy of no return echo skill grants a 10% (I think??) attack boost, so overall I get a 30% atk boost most of the time :)

I partner him with Sanhua with her 5 sec rotation, but still aalto doesn't seem to do enough DMG in late levels of the tower. He seems to do better with Holo boss tho if time is not an issue, because of the taunt of his Shadow

Kuro didn’t cook with Aalto’s S6. 8% crit hit buff and 50% in crease damage to heavy attack that passed through his liberation wind wall. What a crappy S6. Also his skill is pretty clunky bc you don’t gain as much forte stacks when you jump basic attack which is his highest damage. It’s bc his bullets is not passing through his mists to hit enemies so this needs to be fixed to expand the hit box of his skill. My way around this is just to use skill, and do basic attack on the ground then jump auto until his skill comes back off cd, hit skill, ba, dash through his mist. If you aren’t using his air basic attack when you have sequences you are literally gimping your damage. His skill is an AOE taunt which means you are in no danger of getting targeted by the enemy. The only thing you have to watch out for is large scale enemy aoe attacks if you decide to stay near your skill/clone. Sanhua is his best sub dps if you want to main dps Aalto. Her short rotation is good bc Aalto can maximize her outro buff by staying on the field longer with jump attacks.

Short Summary: He ain't The Best But ain't The Worst. In my Humble Opinion... I would never level him up cause we are already lacking enough Currency and Materials to Level up a single character. Using all that on a Character who isn't even Meta is Criminal imo. I'd rather collect all me asterites and get Jiyan (Just My Opinion). Why waste Millions Of Currency when you can give it to Your Camellya? 💀

Did u guys know you can actually fly with Aalto if you do it correctly? I discovered this while fighting tactical holograms with Aalto. All u have to do is open a mist gate and use his mid air atks while being close to it(the gate) and before he lands you need to dash into the gate. Then you just fly lmao. As an Aalto main since release this video really explains literally everything you need to know about him so fantastic video🤍
