Yes! Thank you for being back on KZbin. I've listened to your Podcast in the last months but being back on KZbin is great for three reasons: 1. Watching your interactions is fun. 2. Many people on YT did not seem to know that the podcast had started again ... 3. This way we can interact, give our opinion. It is interesting to read what other people think about the content and discuss it with them ...

Wouldn't say United played underdog football necessarily. Compared to the last matches where United managed to get some result, we had more possession and more open-play chances that weren't just counters. We definitely defended more but didn't just sit back and hit counters
@KyleRicardoPahalКүн бұрын
Don’t expect them to give Man U their flowers. If you look at the stats against arsenal, man city and liverpool, I would hardly say they played off the counter.
@ph528816 сағат бұрын
Yea, strongly disagree with Jon's point here. If you just compare the stats between last season's draw with this 2-2 it's night and day. Under Amorim just now, United went toe to toe with Liverpool and tried to control the game, but were not afraid of playing more direct if needed. The stats support that.

Wasn’t keeping Trent on for so long a tactical error, probably the only one he’s made all season but in this specific game he was getting rinsed and all of uniteds best efforts were from the left hand side of the pitch

Try saying out loud that you're going to transition away from a weekly light hearted review of the leagues action to a long form analysis of the technical parts of the game and not fall asleep or literally die. Obviously that was mental. I'm so fucking relieved that we're back to normal. Next time, try asking literally anyone before you dismantle the only spark of excitement I can muster as part of my weekly commute . Its shit out here, give us a fucking break. Manchester United playing underdog football feels like an unfair statement. In the past, United’s best results against the big teams came counterattacking football, but on Sunday they were much more composed. Still agree that they need to replicate this performance against the lesser teams

I always remember John being more negative than positive whilst talking about Newcastle, however, tonali, Actually modelled himself on Gennaro Gattuso rather than the pearlo comparison and was his hero growing up, and the player he wanted to emulate.
@nakiyame26062 күн бұрын
he's better on the ball compared to rino though, he's somewhere between pirlo and rino i reckon, sure he's closer to gattuso, but his long passes are more accurate and tonali is actually reliable on set pieces (in milan days he scored and assisted so many goals from set pieces)
@siddharthpatil2925Күн бұрын
A big part of the 0.55 xG was due to Trent's risky passes. Slot has already pointed out this that Trent still struggles with the risk reward ratio of his passing! So considering one man's passing resulting into turnover as a pattern of the complete team's performance/ mentality would not be accurate!

The camera orientation of this room is so trippy and betrays all rules of cinema (which this of course is). Joe’s camera is a close up of him looking left to right. So seeing as I don’t yet have visual information of the room that you are recording in, the viewers brain naturally follows cinematic language which must mean that the person Joe is talking to - JJ in this instance - must be on the right of screen, correct? Well not according to the wide shot he isn’t! (“Yes I’m declining” - 0:10 ) Due to the subconscious laws of film (which this of course is), my eyes and ears are both deceiving me, as I am hearing Joe talk and yet strangely seeing JJ’s lips move. This is when I finally realise that it was the orientation of the cameras and the lack of cinematic language that was lying to me! For my brain has still retained the visual context of Joe looking from left to right, when in actuality, he is looking from right to left… Anyway, I’m 14 seconds into the KZbin version of the podcast I - and we, your devout audience - have been begging for. And yet here I am… Lost in the spiralling misery that has been this paragraph and the importance of film language [seriously tho, change the orientation of the hosts camera so that they are looking from right to left if you are going to keep the wide shot where it is]

JJ Bull as usual with his BS about United. Amad’s chance in the first half doesn’t show on the xG chart cause he didn’t manage to actually send the ball towards the goal. If he would’ve had, that alone would have been a 0.8-0.9 xG. The second chance United had in the first half was Rasmus’ shot on a 1v1 situation. And here he says we didn’t have anything in the first half. Also, Amad’s chance would have given United an overall non-penalty xG higher than Liverpool at the end of the game. Liverpool had a total of 1.82 non-penalty xG while ours would have been close to 2.
@SKa-tt9nm2 күн бұрын
So all in all, a pretty even game. 2-2 is a fair score I reckon.
@WelshhomieКүн бұрын
Close to two v 1.82?!?! Nice when's the parade
@andreichivu8892Күн бұрын
You don’t really get how xG works, do you? xG counts only when there’s a shot to goal. Penalty xG counts as 1 since it’s a dead ball shot 1v1 with the keeper from 11m. Amad’s chance was from the 6m line but it didn’t count as xG cause he didn’t shoot to goal. So the algorithm wasn’t complete, but the opportunity was there. Getting the ball in that situation for the player to finish was there. That was reality, not fiction. It was the most dangerous chance in the entire game without the goals. Now, in xG terms, it wouldn’t have counted as 1 cause it was a live ball, but by being so close to the goal, centrally and perpendicularly it would’ve carried a 0.8-0.9 xG. Now, LFC had a 2.82 xG but 1 xG comes from the penalty alone while United had a 1.05 xG, but without Amad’s chance which counted as 0 xG. If it would’ve counted as 0.8-0.9 xG, then we would’ve had a better xG from open play. I hope it’s clearer now and I hope reading isn’t a form of torture for you. Now, provided you can and will read everything, I also hope you will understand the information that the text provides and you are not functionally illiterate.
@b.alexanderjohnstone9774Күн бұрын
Exactly, was thinking same.
@WelshhomieКүн бұрын
@@andreichivu8892right so if you take away the actual penalty that happened from the actual foul that united conceded and if you add in a shot that didn't happen united would be winning on xG 😂 congratulations on winning the fictional statistical game that happened in your head
