Nice to see you keep the Tiger in the highest gear, and not as others do stay in 3 rd at all speeds under 60 mph 👏
@Andre-Mostert2 жыл бұрын
Yes I have been impressed at how smooth the bike is in the higher gears but at lower speeds. Some other bikes just struggle but this one takes its all. Slow roll on seems to work great. Usually runs 3/4 gear in the 30mph zones. Thanks for the comment.

I use E10 and get 54mpg and fill up just after fuel light at 180-190miles and my calculations suggest 230mile range to empty. I'll have to try a tank of E5 but not expecting much difference. Bells and whistle s for me, thats why I have the GT Pro hehe!
@Andre-Mostert2 жыл бұрын
Do it, you never know. I am going to try and finish this tank and see if its worth it. If its only a few miles then its not worth it. But if I can get 20-30 miles more its a bit worth it.

Love the cruise control !

Yes if you smash out the motorway miles then this is a must. I just thing long trips where you have to cover long miles would be ideal. Its something you can get use to very quickly.

E5 in the Netherlands costs about 10 - 15% more per litre, and in my bike with my ride style I get about 5% more range. So from a purely financial perspective it’s not worth it. But then I’m not an accountant 😛. The other big change with the Tiger 660 is the 10k miles/16k km service interval. For someone who rides about 16k km a year, this appealed to me but ultimately I wanted the bells and whistles on the Tiger 900 GT Pro.
@Andre-Mostert2 жыл бұрын
Awesome thank you for the feedback. I am very keen to see how much more range I am going to get to balance that out with how much more the price is. I cannot feel any difference in the ride so for me aswell its all about getting the most range for the amount I pay. On the 660 Sport side, that 10K service is really good and can think that guys doing allot of riding is going to like that. That might also make the cost cheaper in the long run as the bike needs to go in less and longer times between having to take the bike in. My dealer is also not too close so its a bit of a pain to get the bike there. Almost a days holiday just to service the bike. Thank you for the comments.

Nice video as usual. Personally, I don't want the bells and whistles if it's a bike I just zip around town on, with the occasional longer weekend ride. If I'm going to be doing long highway rides, I would definitely prefer cruise control.
@Andre-Mostert2 жыл бұрын
That is so true. I will second that. I am happy if a bike comes with the ABS and traction control and then I would like a good seat, heated grips for the UK and hand guards to keep the wind off my hands. The adjustable suspension is awesome but if its dial in for your weight then I am pretty much sorted. Thanks for the comment.

I have the tiger 850 sport. Not as many bells and whistles. ECU tune unlocks the engine. I do wish I had cruise control. Doing a 700 mile day you’ll notice the lack of cruise control. In the US the long highways really lend themselves to using cruise control. Twisty roads, not so much. 850 is better bike than the 660 :).
@Andre-Mostert2 жыл бұрын
This is so true, if you going to be smashing out the miles then the cruise control would be a great addition. You guys also have big roads and big miles to cover. What does the ECU unlock do on the 850? Do you have a link where I can go and read about it. Sounds like a great option. Thanks for the comment its much appreciated
@KamikazeJoeNYC2 жыл бұрын
@@Andre-Mostert the “detune” they did to make the 850 different from the 900 models is with the throttle mapping. The 850 is throttle is closes at like 64% or something like that (don’t remember exactly). The 900 is like 80-90%. Using DNK Tuneworks you can get the 850 throttle to open 100%. Also removes top speed limiters. I don’t remember exactly but it was fairly cheap. I did it and it’s like a whole new bike. Just look up DNK Tuneworks but there probably are other places that would do it. The 850 is only limited in HP by the ECU and it’s easily bypassed
@Andre-Mostert2 жыл бұрын
Great stuff, thanks for the pointer. I will go and check it out. I did know its was mapped differently but I thought it would be a pain to get it re-mapped. But from your comment it looks fairly easy. Thanks for the feedback.

I would say the engine is on temp its not very hot in the UK any time of the year lol. But yes the engine gets hot when on running temp.

Can you explain a bit more I did not see this. Are you saying there is something dodgy with the front windscreen material? Would be good to know.

Not had a look at that. I will have to go and do some reading. Looks interesting.
