Literally seeing this in my YT notifications got me on here tonight. Tiki was one of my early fave YT content creators. This was a great little bite-sized video- cool, informative tour featuring some great interior design, historical items, and architecture. The ambient music running through the background adds an ethereal atmosphere. And of course Tiki's voice is so pleasant, which makes for such relaxing videos overall. I'm so glad I caught this today.

Hi Tiki, neat little church, those pews are interesting. I went to a very large Catholic Church in Philadelphia as a child. If this church was in Philly it would have been torn down years ago, Philly is really big on tearing things down! Cost a million bucks to tear the beautiful old church down about 12 years ago. Thank you for another neat tour I enjoy your videos so much.😊
@TikiTrex2 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy the videos and appreciate your long time viewership and all your nice comments, always! 😊They like to tear things down here pretty quick as well, especially the Catholic churches. They especially go pretty quickly. This is probably the only church around with tours offered and that has not been tore down, surprisingly. I’m sure that’s coming though and I’m glad that I was able to document it.

We have a similar church in Bennington Vermont, it's still used but it looks a little like this.. and is closed down right now for restoration of the steeple.. but I had a chance to get inside at one time and saw cubicles like this down below and balconies.. I just took photos of the interior.. I'm hoping to do stuff like this more often

Odd that the larger cubicles have benches facing away from thr front.
@excrono4 ай бұрын
Without knowing the denomination and style of worship (which would point to their purpose), this congregation was growing with expansions eventually outgrowing the building. Those renovations may have resulted in a disorganized layout to accommodate available space as new cubicles were added, such as if they had to be modified to fit the existing furniture fabricated by different furnituremakers. Back in the day, things were more ad-hoc.

Odd that a church would disband because it got too big obviously not a problem in the USA though
@TikiTrex4 ай бұрын
There was a larger Anglican Church in town to accommodate more of the parishioners so they didn’t disband. They just consolidated them all to the larger one and didn’t have services here anymore after 1877.
