My petpeeve feature is autoscroll, when you get to an ad, it just repeats the ad and doesn't scroll on, then just requests you to click on the ad.

I personally think using TikTok as a search engine is really concerning. Not only does it not teach kids how to properly research factual information but in terms of like restaurants and stuff it will only give you what’s popular or what’s trending recently? Instead of what actually is near you. Which I also feel is bad. Also I don’t know if the comment section has changed or anything since I stopped using the app but me personally I feel that TikTok has the worst most toxic comment sections and the only comment sections even slightly compared is instagram reels.

Additionally, I don’t use tik tok but 90% of the ones that get sent to me are some sort of ad in some sense. tik tok has to have ad labels much more visible than KZbin does, but over the last 3-5 years every video on YT has had 90 second unskippable ad intros followed by some sort of sponsor (usually VPN or betterhelp) within the first 2 min of a video

I can buy that a lot of tiktok comment sections are at least neutral - but look at the comments of autistic or disabled creators - especially women - and it quickly becomes a different picture. (I mean, tiktok inventing new ways to say the r slur that won't be caught by moderation is evidence enough in itself.)
