giving an opinion about the anxiety song showcased here specifically: as someone with anxiety it felt very..... patronising. like i obviously don't know the artist and if they experience it or not but i feels very much like the whole corporate "we care sooo much about mental health guys. anyway lets print the definition of anxiety on a tshirt and mass produce it" kinda vibe. idk. it just doesn't feel like how anxiety feels and presents itself. like it would probably be less of this chill happy quirky type beat and more like scores to Psycho and The Thing type beat, lol. that's how i feel about it anyway
@theamazinggamers59482 ай бұрын
I also have anxiety disorders, I’ll say Chris Ray Gun did a much better job at conveying it through “Reality Calls”. The reason this feels fake in comparison, in my opinion, is because he only took the surface level definition of anxiety and used no creativity apart from rhyming mixed with the typical tiktok rhythm

To the point of me (at least) instantly blocking dozens of short creators the moment I hear the first note of that song.

As an artist, it disgusts me when people use pre-made beats or something and claim it as their own. Yes, I've used samples, but at least I'm not afraid to *admit* that. Some people just slap lazy lyrics over a beat and call it their own. When *extremely talented* creators put effort into creating an instrumental track, lyricists and singers should respect that.

i mean objectively, as someone who listens but doesn’t produce music, i’d rather a artist use premade beats than if they spend hours making a beat that doesn’t really fit the music? obviously claiming it as their own is bad but i don’t think any artist has actively gone out and said “i made this beat”, if it’s in a music library that doesn’t require credits than why not? it’s not like the makers didn’t receive any money for it, and they consent to it being used for anything (at least i assume), i can see why artists that make their own beats can be against this but as long as it’s not complete trash (objective lmao) than why should the general public care? nobody’s losing in the situation

2:15 I'm not sure exactly why this song bothers me so much. Aside from the fact that they're just using music as a product and anxiety as a tool to get people to listen, they're missing out on so many good ideas! Music is fun to play with. Why just have a basic instrumental rock/pop track in major key in the back? That doesn't feel like anxiety to me. You could make the song fast paced to represent fast heartbeats/breathing. You could add the occasional jarring or distressing chord to show how stressful anxiety can be. You could do so much with this concept and it disappoints me how they aren't doing anything cool. This is why I like musical theatre, the theatre people are good at this.

When it comes to music, I really have no problem with music that's seemingly braindead, y'know, mumble rap as a popular example, or hyperpop, or EXTRATONE (check it out, it's insanity). I don't listen to it, but I very much understand the reason why people WOULD listen to it and enjoy it. On the other hand you've got music that's generally held in high regard artistically, classical, smooth jazz, prog rock/metal. That's all cool too, y'know. But dude.... Like... I much less respect music that is obviously made as a product. I know people gotta eat, but when there's no heart behind a track, it's automatically harder to listen to.

That wasn't very coherent i don't think, but whatevs. Listen to whatever you enjoy, even if it's scream rap backed by bagpipes. I'd just advise you look into yourself, and verify that you truly do get enjoyment from what you're listening to.

I hate when artists explain what you're supposed to understand or feel. For instance the anxiety song there. Why did you feel the need to explain what was it about? let ME figure it out. It's like they also think we're stupid.
@poppyalt7427Ай бұрын
Often when someone does explain what they wanted to convey in some art form (music, books, etc) it's in some interview later on when asked, or written in the end/a pamphlet somewhere besides the main object. If I listen to a song and interpret it as being about anxiety, I probably won't be surprised to hear the artist later being interviewed and asked what certain lines meant say "well it's about (my) anxiety". It's just another point against them in the field of "this is not for art it's to release a product to sell you" and that rarely turns out favorable for the producer.
