@@TheCommanderTaco With the way that reaction happens in the fryer, if anyone else was close enough they may have sustained some terrible burns - so potentially reckless endangerment as well, depending on how far the hot oil spilled everywhere out of that fryer. What if it had caused a fire, too? So dangerous...
@differentbutsimilar78934 ай бұрын
Property damage. Also gotta consider the danger he put people nearby in. Water is denser than oil so sinks underneath and boils and boils... only it can't evaporate away under the oil. The vapor becomes this compacted bubble down at the bottom, until there is so much pressure that boiling-point water vapor becomes a full on liquid. This is superheating. The pressure is taking it beyond it's normal max temp. It's VERY volatile. The water wants desperately to evaporate but is trapped as a liquid. Eventually it explodes and throws hot grease everywhere. We are talking disfigurement. We are talking hot grease igniting flammable materials. We are talking loss of life. Adding ice to grease is not a joke any more than faking-out oncoming traffic at 90mph is a joke. You are scaring people by putting them in actual mortal danger, there's nothing left of it to reasonably call a joke.

Even just regular walls under the counters and flooring edges unless pure stainless everywhere it touched (not my experience in most restaurants) would be damaged at temperature or accelerated temperature. The reason people like this get away with this stuff is because victims of these petty crimes don't want the hassle of pressing charges - the paperwork and taking time off to go to court. If this was a serious assault then perhaps someone would actually step up and go through the process but for these smaller things, no one wants to 'get involved'. The cops can only do so much and there are limited situations where they can just go ahead and press charges on behalf of the County or City where the crime occurred. This isn't victim blaming - this is just a fact. Sadly, a vast majority of criminal mischief cases like this go unpunished because no one wants to officially press charges and there's nothing further that can be done. I know it's a pain and distressing but always press charges if you want a criminal prosecuted.
@kunknown23404 ай бұрын

Even if allegedly his prank was just CGI (which I doubt the fire alarm is caused by the danger is), dude can technically be hit with trespassing. He's gonna be that hair on the camels back that finally makes people realize "why do we put up with this?" And as Atozy said, he's gonna run into the wrong person, but at this point, the wrong people. It's ok to cause damage and endanger people's lives but if you act out in self defense you're wrong and will catch much worse punishments trying to protect your workplace and coworkers? That needs to be changed.
