How to get "leggings legs": 1. Make sure you have legs. 2. Get a pair of leggings. 3. Put your legs in those leggings.

Literally, when i weighed 80lbs due to starving myself and overexercising, i still didn't have a thigh gap because my hips are so narrow. Thigh gaps aren't attainable for most people even when they are underweight. My heart aches for all the young girls this will affect.

I agree! And also, the visual weight thing doesn't works if you aren't stereotipically pretty. Usually those faces we deem as beautiful are very balanced. In a sense of, all the features kinda "work" together (everyone's festures work together, but I mean when that combination of features gives them the standar "pretty" look). So they have a single """"visual weight"""(? All throughout their face. Me and all other normal looking people can't actually put ourselves in a binary box of low or high visual weight, cause our features aren't all the same! For example, I have a roman nose and "siren" eyes which would be considered high weight. But my face structure is very soft and my lips and mouth are small. I was trying so hard to figure out my visual weight until I realized that I don't need to know lol

Im the same. Its crazy how much more self-conscious I get when Im consuming too much content on social media. And its even crazier how better things get when I take a break from it. Like, I clearly remember wanting to get BBL during the pandemic! Never wanted one before in my life, never felt like I needed it. But literally 1 month after I deleted instagram from my phone I didn’t even think about it anymore, and soon enough I was no longer so unsatisfied with my body. I see social media now as a tool. I use it with specific purposes in mind instead of letting it use me.

@muphyna5 ай бұрын
I dont get it. People are always talking about how toxic tiktok is but I dont see these same people leaving the app. Im sure there is positive content there too but no one talks about it, they are always only pointing out the toxic parts. Why stay in such a problematic social media then? Beauty standards are stupid but they also have been around ever since the beggining of times and each culture had its own, the difference is that now, with the internet, people are more exposed to them SPECIALLY if they use social media a lot. Leave the toxic environment if it cant be changed and you will see a great improvement in mental health.

Why is it that when something is promoting being skinny people freak out, but when there's fat models out there promoting being obese (which causes a shit ton of health issues), everyone applauds them? why the hypocrisy?

Idk what area of the Internet ur on but I don’t think people applaud fat people for promoting obesity. I always see people critiquing and critiquing those who promote mindless eating and obesity and the cons of the body positivity movement. Two things can exist at once: promoting being dangerously skinny is as bad as promoting being dangerously overweight
@ofukur.o8 ай бұрын
Simply existing and not hating yourself for being fat is not 'promoting obesity'.
@bibichillieblue8 ай бұрын
Being naturally skinny has literally never been frowned upon. It’s just problematic if you’re trying to lose so much weight in a unnatural way and starving yourself because you have an ED, but then again, people with EDs are victims and help to be healthier. Obese people also have eating disorders, and they also need help to be healthier, but because being overweight is not something that usually happens in a conscious effort, and people usually blame obesity on being lazy, stupid, etc, sometimes it is easier for someone to start feeling comfortable in their overweight body so they can go on about their day. Nobody deserves to be treated like shit because they are struggling with their weight, skinny or not skinny, especially teenage girls who are still developing.
@muphyna5 ай бұрын
Well, I think there is a difference there, although I do get what you mean. Most obese people that do that are simply living and celebrating their bodies which is already considered “out of the standard” and basically no one that is considered healthy (and no, I dont believe in health at every size) would try to emulate it. You wont see, for example, celebrities intentionally getting bigger. Quite the opposite. So one trend has far more impact in a bigger number of people and will always be more normalized than another. So yeah, although there is for sure people in the fat acceptance community that will try to twist reality and say that obesity is not unhealthy and should be considered beautiful too by everyone, I tend to focus more on the people who are simply standing against the discrimination based on size, while not denying that they have a health condition. Like, fat people still deserve to live normal lives and shouldn’t have to face so much discrimination and dehumanization until they loose weight.

There's nothing wrong with body checking or wanting to look a certain way. The compulsive argument is null since it is a figment of the patient's imagination validated by a therapist who creates a problem to make money.
