There are some legitimate reasons to ban TikTok. One I find unfair is that TikTok is a Chinese owned company that operates in the US. Where as in China if a US company wanted to do business in China they would have to use a Chinese company proxy. Another thing people forget about is that TikTok is just musically. Which got in trouble due to underage soliciting and TikTok still has that problem but doesn't acknowledge. TikTok has gotten better at hiding it using their algorithm a few other KZbinrs have proven this by making new accounts in specifically seeking it out and once you break through that algorithm it's everywhere.

It's not that they think the Chinese government is accessing the data right now like the video implies, its actually because it's a Chinese company and they have to follow Chinese national laws, which allows the Chinese gov take control of the company to access any and all data the company has collected at any time they see fit. Incorrect. Private platforms are allowed to put in their own TOSes in place barring certain exceptions. Free speech law only effects how the government has to treat its citizens and the entities under itself. You can argue that the content promoted on the platform is outside of free speech protection due to its effects. You are going to need some real strong evidence if you actually think it is intentionally programmed to cause said effect. Rather than it being the side effect of an algorithm which pushes content based of off attention therefore pushing the content to be more sensational and less informative, due to it's nature. Not everyone dances anymore. Some small businesses rely on the app for customers. Tiktok being banned could make them go broke
