Can I just say I love that the girl teaching us colour correction clearly has acne or something but isn't making a big deal of it or apologising for her skin being her skin? Part of the reason I always thought I was ugly growing up after the age of like 11 or 12 when I first started getting acne was because you barely ever saw people with acne just e x i s t i n g in the media, and when they were there the acne was often the joke or a setup for a MaGiCaL tRaNsFoRmAtIoN. My skin is better now than it was but by no means perfect, however if there had been more normalisation back then that comfort in one's own skin is more important than perfect skin then maybe I could have saved myself a lot of scabs and scars. :/

The colour correcter was no surprise to me at all. I've been using the concealer/colour corrector sets from Korean and Japanese brands since I started makeup and the colours she's showing are usually the ones you see in those little palettes. That was also the way I was taught by family members, and I like to think this is standard for the way Asian Beauty approaches colour correcting since not only my family but other friends in our Chinese community did this too growing up. If you're wondering I'm in my early 20's so not sure if this is more of a modern thing. I really like how that video explained it and even brought up darker skin tones not just for those of her tone or light ones :) Greetings from Canada ^^
@Eeveecat8 ай бұрын
Same thing with the multiple colors of blush! I've been looking into east asian beauty stuff for a bit now, and there are so many blushes that come in palettes so you can use the different shades in different areas! I've even seen videos showing similar techniques to what she showed, even far more complicated techniques, tailored to your facial anatomy! It really kills me that she was acting like she invented the concept of using multiple blushes... especially considering, not only is this a modern thing in the east, but like other people in the comment section have mentioned, it's not like it's new in the west either!

I think the color corrector being diluted with concealer is dependent on your skin tone tbh. My skin is very red, so a light green color corrector directly on my face literally looks like sheer foundation. It doesn't look green at all! If I dilute it with concealor, it doesn't really do the job.
