These two teams dominated the NBA from 1999-2010 this season was the start of the Spurs Lakers era
@Enoughsenoughnomas2 ай бұрын
This was popavich’s first year as coach, and the year the spurs finally broke thru and won a ring; Phil Jackson took over the lakers the next year and that was the year the lakers finally ended the drought and won the first ring since the 80’s. Coaching is everything in the 90’s/early 00’s post salary cap era

San Antonio played fewer possessions too, if the pace of the game was the same as the Lakers' Duncan would've averaged about 2 points, 1 rebound, 0.5 assists more per game.

That building (the Alamo dome) was built for football but then Spurs teams was so good under Larry Brown and Gregg Popovich for so long except 1997 (Tim Duncan drafted) they sold out the joint and made enough money to build the SBC Center now named the AT&T Center, also the 1998 men's NCAA basketball final four held their as well during the Spurs tenure.

Im a long time Spurs fan and I'ma have to disagree with you on that statement. Duncan was the better all around player because of his height with the ability to block more shots, score, grab more rebounds and make his teammates better but Kobe was a cold blooded killer. I didn't like Kobe for the same reason I didn't like Jordan. I knew they would destroy you. It took me a long time to really appreciate Jordan and Kobe Bryant. R.I.P. Kobe. One of the G.O A.T.S

Two decades after, Bryant's game changed through the years but Duncan's game remained the same. Nothing fancy from Duncan. He just gets the job done. Kobe started as a cocky kid who evolved into a great leader.
