Tim and Bo speak so fondly of each other too, so much mutual respect. Tim has said “Bo is like me but younger, smarter, taller, better-looking & funnier” meanwhile Bo has said “to put it most eloquently, and I honestly believe this - he kind of does what I do except he does it 100 times better than I do it.”

In Australia a word for a bit of a tarty girl is a mole. So the last line made the Aussie giggle
@jioden96652 жыл бұрын
“I never knew how fast a little mole can grow on you” is excellent wordplay, obviously mole growth is skin cancer, but in Australia ‘mole’ is derogatory and used much the same way as ‘bitch’ or ‘ho’

And considering he's been with her since 17 and has joked of a little bogan heritage calling her a mole jokingly fits perfectly. I expect the first time he played the song to her she'd have cackled at the ending.

You said it one. GENIUS. man, you have only heard a couple of his songs. He has dozens of quirky, funny, confronting, disturbing genius works of lyrical art. As well as TV shows, Broadway musicals and more... Keep digging!
@BillTheScribe2 жыл бұрын
The genius of him in this particular show is that nothing was unplanned. You can watch the whole thing on here, but the second half is harder to find. He plays it two different ways. At the piano, you see what you see here. A Super-confident performer who knows he controls the stage and the crowd. Between songs he'll come out to tell jokes or a story, and he's this shy person who seems like he found his way onstage and can't believe they let him stay. The two come together in the opening number, "I Am So Rock." You can see the musician realize the power he has, while the comedian slips into the background, only to poke his head up for awkward breaks between songs. I saw a comment on another video that there is a hidden joke in here that has to be something he threw in for himself and a handful of other people. I'd never be able to catch it, so I don't know if it's true. When he Sais "I should have cut you out back when you were benign," he ends the sentence with a B9 chord. I want that to be true.

I've only just discovered your KZbin page. I love that you love the brilliant music Australian bands and artists concoct. Not nearly enough overseas people are exposed to our magnificent home grown artists. Thank you so much for exposing the world to our awe-inspiring artists from the 70s right through to today. I see you have a Jon Stevens video ... he was the lead singer of a band called Noiseworks (80s), try No Lies, Australian Crawl, Indisposed and, of course, everything INXS (pronounced IN-Ex Ess, said quickly, in excess). Also, check out Stevie Wright, Evie, Parts I, II and III ... my real name is Evie, I got serenaded with this song a lot when I was in high school. In fact, I have the chorus as my mobile's ringtone. We Aussie's know how to rock!

This song, like all of his songs was written to be poetic and at the same time a bit funny and to be performed on stage and not primarily for recording. This is the genius of Tim. I have seen him several times live on stage. Once you have seen him live, you appreciate how different he is compared to other performers.

Tim on his look: "I don’t wear shoes cos I went barefoot one day and liked it. I like wearing eye makeup cos it makes my eyes look weird / nicer / more easily seen from the audience. I like my long coat cos it makes me feel like a proper pianist. I get my hair permed straight, then put a bit of muck in it, back-comb it chunky style and spray it with hairspray. After a few shows I don’t have to do anything to it; it just stays like that. I also enjoy the theatricality of performance - not just the narrative content. To an extent my onstage persona is a character, and his appearance contributes to a removal from reality which allows me to say what I want to say on stage without annoying (most) people."

It's part of Aussie Culture to Check Out someone who we find Attactive. It's our way of Paying A Compliment. Being in a Relationship doesn't stop us Checking Out someone and Aussie Partners don't usually get offended. Because they'll be doing the same thing themselves. Checking Out someone's Partner and give them a "Lucky You!" look is quite common too. Back to My Story about how I let Him know I Liked Him, it was a typical Aussie way. He Checked Me Out, I looked away for a moment as if to say "Why thank you, kind sir!" In response I Checked Him Out and made Him Light Up Like A Christmas Tree. As soon as possible I went to talk to Him. One time when We saw each other, He watched Me interact with others for a while. He made up for His earlier comment. Loud enough for Me to hear Him. He said "She's Nice To Everybody, Young And Old!" At the moment Covid is keeping Us apart, even though He's just an hours drive away. He's Quiet and somewhat Shy, so I don't want to Chase Him. When We are face to face again, We'll See.

This one song I don't think I'll ever introduce my Potential Boyfriend to, He's a bit on the conservative side. I basically had to grow into finding Him Attractive. We've known each other since We were Teenagers. I danced with Him once at a party and He kept giving Me the eye for the rest of the night. I didn't know what some young men who were worse Gossips Than Old Ladies had told Him. They told Him that I Liked Him, when I didn't that way. The next time we saw each other He sat down next to Me with an expectant look on His face. When I didn't respond like He expected Me to, He got a Hurt and Confused look on His face. Then He said something that had Me confused. "You're Too Changeable For Me!" The main reason I wasn't attracted to Him was He's an Unashamed Geek and I'm a Firery Kook. I used to think He could bore for The Olympics, but I've realised He's not that bad over the years. It's taken over a decade for it to become a Mutual Attraction. I'll continue in another comment.

I think this song hits different with the thought of roe v wade being overturned. This is my first video of yours, but also love Bo and Tim and would have fun watching more content with you if you haven't covered everything so far. And I mean that as this is not a love song even though it can be interpreted that way. Seems more like an unwanted affliction (pregnancy) that's forced upon you rather than an actual love song.
