My husband and I quit RCIA because we couldn't get past the Mary thing. Lately I have been feeling myself being pulled back to Catholicism so I set out to find the truth. This blew me away! I'm in tears. I finally get it!!! I cannot wait to show this to my husband. This is beautiful and it rings true.

Mariology is a lie. it's not biblical nor scriptural. It's rcc made and it opposes the very word of God. Before you are seduced by such teachings, do like the Bereans whom Paul complimented in Acts 17 v 11"Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true."

I am not Catholic, but maybe someday soon. However, I am a Christian and have been baptized. This brother when he was talking about Blessed Mother Mary and how Gabriel humbly waited her response and the saints and the other angels, oh my goodness his enthusiasm sent me over the edge. Alleluia! I admit I was always skeptical about Mary and praying to her, but my goodness since I have been studying more about the Catholic Church. I look at her in a different light. The Blessed Mother of God. Gives me glory bumps!

I think the reason why Protestants don't get or understand Mary's role in our salvation is rooted in nothing but PRIDE. The fact that she is Jesus' mother should have made it easier, that alone elevates her any other creature out there, the LORD Himself grew up in her belly, she was the vessel that made it possible for Jesus to be born. The Lord made her blemish free, it just made sense because she bore GOD, why would God the Father allow His only begotten son to be born of a sinner? Jeffrey...keep exploring the Catholic faith, it won't be easy, there will be hurdles that will block your way, but remain focused on the goal. With masses being streamed on the daily here on YT, you can now participate & listen to the mass. Many resources to learn about the Catholic Church are all over the net, both in print or videos for free. You won't learn everything, but allow your heart to speak to you in your journey & one day you don't change your mind so we can welcome you home.

@@etrnlygr8tful87 It really, really is mind-boggling, this issue about the mother of the Christ. When it comes to Mary, it's like all logical thinking flies out the window with catholics. This goes way beyond veneration. And Catholics wonder why they get accused of worshiping Mary. This stuff isn't found in Scripture. It is the result of man-made traditions over the centuries. It seems rational thought goes out the window and wild imagination takes over when it comes to Mary. Neither Jesus nor the original apostles gave any indication of those attributes of Mary. You look at all the glories, titles, doctrines and dogmas pertaining to Mary you practically have a religion in and of itself. There's not nearly enough information in Scripture regarding Mary to come up with all of that. This is Mariology out of control. Kind of like a snowball rolling down a snowy hill, it keeps getting bigger and bigger as time goes by. There seems to be no end to the exalting of Mary.

And all the Church Fathers from the very beginning centuries after Jesus and the apostles honor Jesus' mother as sinless, perpetual virgin, and the most faithful disciple of Jesus. Yet even if you don't dig into all that historical evidence, there's one thing that's a real challenge to all believers... Jesus was sinless and followed all the laws and commandments *perfectly,* including 'Honor thy father and thy mother'... Challenge is: we are called to follow His example, and do you think anyone of us can outdo Jesus in love and honor for His mother. Well, technically the place has different names. Abraham's Bosom is one name (Luke 16:22); and we can discern that this is in the heart of the earth because 1) it is visible across a gulf from Hell (Luke 16) and 2) when Samuel was called back after his death he ascended out of the earth (1 Samuel 28)

@lastchance8142
@lastchance8142 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the old testament called the place of the dead Sheol. It does not elaborate on the seperate status of souls there, or even if souls are conscious. Indeed, the concept of "soul sleep" is gleaned from the OT, and many believe the body and soul are one and simply "sleep" until judgement day. Jesus elaborated in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus teaching that there are two sections in Sheol, "Abraham's bosom" (Paradise) and Hades (hell) where conscious souls reside until judgement day. After the resurrection, souls in Paradise and the dead in Christ go to be "with the Lord" in heaven until judgement day. Unfortunately, the old English (ie: King James) often translates both Hades and Gehenna (the Lake of fire) as "Hell", leading to much confusion and doctrinal error across denominations, especially Catholisim, which seems to teach that either Hades and Gehenna are equivalent and/or that Hades is "Purgutory", which is not mentioned in the bible.

Luther was indoctrinated by Roman paganistic beliefs for many years. He just began to slowly realise things were not right in his cult and left. But it takes time to rid yourself of all the teachings a cult brainwashes you with. Sadly the Lutherans today are still snared in the web of much of the Romanists religion.

It’s sad to see so many Protestants in the comments so adamant on belittling Our Lady. Why? Is it jealousy? Is it pride? The same kind of pride that condemned Lucifer and the other fallen angels to hell? Mary’s soul magnifies the Lord, not herself.
@billdavis5483

The earliest protestants loved Mary. Even Luther and Calvin I think, not sure about Calvin. It has to be pride if it is a negative. Their theology makes their salvation very lonely. Just "me and Jesus". Jesus left us His own mother to help us to work out our salvation. We have to work it out and we have Mary to do what she can to help us along the way. Salvation is so much better with Mary than without her. So I think it was an unintended consequence of their developing theology to justify their separation from the Vine and then pride certainly was another force. I am praying all protestants can correct their view of Mary. It may take centuries.

Generally speaking the problem taken with the mass is the characterization of the mass as a daily repeated sacrifice of Christ; that is to say, that Christ is being sacrificed again and again and again and again. The problem with this is that Hebrews says "For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; 27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself." Hebrews 7:26-27 I have heard it explained more recently that the mass is more of a manner of accessing the same once and for all sacrifice of Christ; but the characterization of the mass as a daily sacrifice lends itself to the belief that Christ is dying again and again. I don't find this to be a particularly controversial quibble, as several of the early councils were convened to deal with just such linguistic implications.

hey! The answer to the “perpetual sacrifice” question is found in Revelation. John, while on the island of Patmos, sees through the door of heaven and actually gets to observe what the heavenly worship looks like. In the center of the heavenly court, there is a “Lamb, standing as if slain” (revelations 5:6) Obviously the lamb of God is Jesus Christ, the one who was slain “once for all.” In heaven, his sacrifice is perpetually and eternally represented: the atonement for the sins of the world. But it is not re-sacrificed, because, as Hebrews tells us, that would mean Jesus would have to suffer for each generation. “Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world” (Hebrews 9:26). So on Sunday, Catholics do not re-sacrifice Christ. Catholics actually take part in the heavenly worship which is described in Revelations, “the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints” (Rev 5:8). Just as the saints in heaven fall down before the Lamb who stands as if slain in heaven, so too Catholics worship the lamb standing as if slain. Heaven and Earth come together each Sunday to worship the Lord.

U R just the man that can ans my questions. The Bible refutes what the RCC teaches about Mary. God said "believers go to the grave at death, where they "sleep" until the resurrection" (I Cor 15). God never contradicts himself which means 'Mary' cant be on earth in any form of the RCC- even in Revelations. No one on earth knows 'who' will end up in heaven or hell so why does the RCC pray to human creations who have died? The Bible plainly says that "no man has ascended to heaven" John 3:13 & "All have sinned" Rom 3:23, & "no one is truly righteous" Rom 3:19, & Jn 5:28 "a time is coming when 'all' who are in their graves will hear his voice & come out" (God didn't say 'except 4 Mary'). Pls explain the RCC ignoring the words of God only to promote contradictions. Praying/worshiping, bowing dwn to Mary, dead creations or angels is forbidden “For there is one God, & one mediator also between God & men, the man Christ Jesus” 1 Tim. 2:5. "Is God a liar"? Isa 6:3, "In vain, they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of MEN" Mt 15:9 This is very important, pls answer soon.

Hello! I will answer your comments. Mary can appear to people on earth. Look at Matthews Gospel “tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. And coming forth from their tombs after his resurrection, they entered the holy city and appeared to many.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27:52-53‬ ‭ Also, the dead are judged after they die. They don’t sleep until Christ comes back a second time. They ultimately go to Heaven or hell at the end of the day “Just as it is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment,” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:27‬ ‭NABRE‬‬

I have to mention this that as God had made us humans in his image and the human stock is from a father and a mother to bring forth children through child baring,then because we’re the image of God then what is the Father Son and Holy Spirit mean for obviously they are not One Person but Persons,they are definitely Three Divine Persons which seems to reveal that they are a FAMILY and that’s why all those who are saved as humans are called the children Of GOD.

I gave my life to Jesus over two and a half years and was filled with the Holy Spirit in one instant and was delivered from addiction overnight. I followed evangelical teachings and was baptised in water in a Pentecostal church. God then took me to a wonderful Anglican Church full of love for Christ I never thought about becoming a catholic but every so often God will lead me to look into the consecrated life of catholic nuns and i would marvel at the love these nuns had for Jesus but also for Mary. I prayed very hard about this and God answered my prayer telling me that Jesus had left us to care for Mary and Mary to care for us (“Behold your mother”John 19:26-27) and I understood in my heart that Jesus asked only one of his disciples to take Mary into his home because he knew only one part of his church would love Mary. That was two years ago when I received this revelation and felt peace in my heart about it but no inclination to become a catholic. Two months ago, however, I’ve been feeling the pull towards the catholic faith, so strong with so many signs that I’m now planning to convert to Catholicism. Protestants have done a great job in defiling the catholic faith, but Jesus is calling people home in very different ways across the world. Praise the Lord ❤️

I don’t get it. First, he says, “Jesus is not enough,” and then he says, Well, yes, every perfect gift does come from above.” First, he says, “The salvation of the world was contingent upon the decision of a fourteen-year-old girl,” and then he remembers that she was full of grace. Whose grace, you ask? Ah, yes, the Father’s grace. Does the Father’s grace curtail our freedom? No. Does the Father’s grace see to it that good things happen? Yes. Why are you so afraid of the sovereignty of God, Tim? Afraid he might not get things right? If you honestly believe that the fate of the universe is contingent upon the completely free choice of a young child, you are full-on Pelagian. Most of the Marian doctrines are no threat to the integrity of Protestantism. She can be ever-virgin. She can be assumed. You can ask for her prayers. She can be kept sinless, emphasis on the kept. What she cannot be is worshiped. And I’m well aware Catholics say they don’t. But their prayers to Mary and their prayers to Jesus are interchangeable. We are left to only one rational conclusion: either they worship Mary...or they don’t worship Jesus.

I had this question in my mind for a while . I guess I found the answer of why Mary of all is so needed.. so praised of all ... The answer is 'HUMILITY'. JESUS is present in The Eucharist - the Living bread and Wine. Jesus died for our sins once nd for all cleansing us. Jesus made a new covenant with us . So we can go to Him anytime .. He is God with us. Isn't so ? But doesn't St.Paul condemns anyone participating in the communion with sinful nature. He says do not receive Jesus and by doing so don't bring judgement on yourself . @ 1 Corinth 11:29,30. You may wonder why I am talking about Jesus suddenly. Because Jesus made a covenant with us..but He is HOLY and to go to Him we need to be HOLY . That is why confesion is important. HOLINESS is sooo underated now. That's why God made Mary full of Grace. He needed Her for His work. Like He needed Peter Paul James John Matthew... But she was esteemed for she was favoured by the Lord to be the woman ( genesis 3:15 ) against Whom Satan spawns enemity because Holy Spirit created God in her. She was blessed to live with God for 30 years. She must have seen so many big big miracles to ask Jesus wine in a dire situation. She knew Him as who He was. She kept herself committed to Him . She lived Her life for Him.. obeying Him..worshipping Him as He really wanted while He walked on this earth as a mere mortal. Even now we don't care Jesus for what He is. Don't revere Him as He should be. We call Him mostly when we want Him. And we are sinners plainly. To be Holy before presenting ourselves to God Jesus we ask for the deep intercession of Mother Mary. To go before us and ask Him for us. It is in our HUMILITY in asking this Lady we touch the Heart of God. This Lady's Holiness which is a grace from God which in free will she also consented by her YES and living according to it...her intercessions are very powerful! Lastly... Jesus did not say ...' behold my mother ' He gave her to us saying ' Behold your mother ' Also... All generations will call her Blessed( by Holy Spirit).. but most of our brother say she is dead ... Just a woman... ! ☹️ .. if Moses who saw the face of God is there.. Elijah is still present .. then Mary who gave her entire life for Jesus dead? Anyone in right sense can think well... Biblically Genesis 3: 15 prophecy is re echoed in Rev 12 : 17. Enemity between woman , her offsprings against Satan. Woman started it all and woman ends it. Giving Satan the blow from a woman is God's plan.. ✨...

Now it happened that while Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.” But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.” - Luke 11:27-28 Perfect opportunity for Jesus to elevate mariology rather than rebuke the very claim the RCC makes concerning Mary! It's easy to add to scripture when you have an agenda and have given yourself authority and claim it is from heaven. You know it's from God when what was already written (bible) and as time and events unfold the mysteries of the scriptures are revealed, only God can do that. Man adds to and creates mysteries after the fact under the guise of "tradition,". There is good reason mariology is the Achilles heal if RC doctrine because the Mary of scripture was a slave of God and a sinner like the rest of us according to her own words. Other examples are the pope, indulgence, Popery, purgatory... none in scripture, but all added through "tradition".

John 19:26, 27 Jesus was referring to John when he said to Mary “woman your son.” Then to John “behold your mother.” John and Mary are who Jesus is talking about here. As firstborn, Jesus presented his mother to John for the responsibility to care for his mother as Jesus died on the cross. “From that hour John took Mary into his household.”

Mathew 12 : 46-50 While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” These verse suggest that there is no speciality for Mary, she was a normal human being and not a mediator.

Saints and angels in heaven intercede for us in REVELATION 4, 5, 6, 8. MARY AND HER ROLE AS OUR SPIRITUAL MOTHER Mary's role in the life of the Church for 2000 years is why Catholic love, revere, and honor her and also why we are thus lead to seek her intercession and protection. The principal basis for the doctrine of Mary as Spiritual Mother of all humanity is found in the Gospel of John. In this scene, Mary is at Calvary at the foot of the Cross with John, the beloved disciple. John tells us, "When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold your son.' Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold your mother'" (JOHN 19: 26-27). Apostle John is symbolic of all humanity. Jesus from the Cross gave His Mother to every human person for all time. Our Lord said, "Behold your mother." He was not suggesting that Mary become our mother, but that Mary is our Mother. And to Mary He gave us as children. The relationship between Mary and her spiritual children is found in scripture when St. Paul's beautiful doctrine of the Mystical Body of Christ (cf. COL 1:18, EPH 4:15). In this whole Body, St. Paul refers to Christ as the Head and the Church as the Body. Head and Body make up the entire and whole Mystical Body of Jesus Christ. Now, if you say that Mary gave birth to Jesus, the Head of the Body, then it must be that she gave birth to the entire Body since a true body cannot be separated which means that she gave birth to the members as well. In giving physical birth to Jesus, Mary made it possible for us to receive spiritual life through Him. We were dead, and through Him we have come back to life. And it was Mary's "yes" at the Annunciation that made our rebirth possible. To question this is to question the plan of God. For it was He who decided from all eternity that it would be so. And the list of those who have believed it is almost endless. Mary is our true Spiritual Mother because a mother not only gives birth, but she also is given by God so that she might nurture, feed, teach, guide, and protect her child. God entrusts her with these tasks. In the human family, a mother is not optional. So too, in the spiritual family of the Mystical Body of Christ, Mary, our Mother is not optional.

I have studied the Bible for 35 years. I went to Bible College and Seminary. I have 2 earned Masters Degrees, one focuses on the New Testament. Wow, Tim Staples ascribed a lot of emotion to Mary that are simply his own thoughts on what she COULD HAVE felt, rooted in what he thinks she SHOULD have felt. I listened to the whole talk, and know the Scriptures well. I don’t see much of this (at many points, I see none of this) in the pages of the New Testament. Seriously, where do you get 95% of this? Simply pick up the Bible and read it with the intent of finding points about Mary. Start in Matthew and start reading. After you finish the Revelation of John, ask yourself “what did I learn about Mary?” Sure, she was blessed among women. She gave birth to the Son of God. Yes, she is the Mother of the God/Man. She raised Jesus. She did all that. I get it. But, pick up the New Testament with the specific intent of focusing on Mary. Then, ask yourself how much of Tim Staples’ talk was his own subjective feelings on what he thinks Mary felt/saw/experienced, etc. He kept saying “this is about to get good,” and “I got another story” and went on a good talk about the spoken Word of God. But, he has no source for much of what he ascribes to Mary other than hearsay and assumptions. Read the salutations and conclusions and prayers of the New Testament. There isn’t even a hint of any of this. Sorry, as educated as Tim Staples is, he only drilled his own meaning into the text of Scripture.

Maybe I missed something in the presentation but where before the Emperor Constantine do early church fathers talk about any of the Marian dogma? This includes Semiramis and Tammuz also known by other names which is a type of Mother of God.

Ever since Protestantism came into being there have always been someone that sought to discredit the Catholic Church by accusing it of paganism because they will say paganism is evil or demonic. It seems to me that all they can show is that even pagans value motherhood. Honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary as mother of the Lord is no more pagan than Americans celebrating Mothers Day. As far as this Tamuz Semiramis thing, that comes from The Two Babylons, a 19th century book by Alexander Hislop that alleged a correlation between the Catholic Church and the pagan religion of ancient Babylon. That book has been published and republished and to this day continues to be cited by many Protestant groups attacking the Cathoilc Church. One Protestant author, Ralph Woodrow, rewrote it as Babylon Mystery Religion but as more scholarly information became available it was discovered how seriously flawed was the work by Hislop. All the connections to the Catholic Church were manufactured. Alexander Hislop was the Dan Brown of his age, and The Two Babylons was his Da Vinci Code. Yet to this day people still treat Hislop as an apostle and The Two Babylons as if it were part of the Bible. After all, why let a little thing like truth get in the way of a good slander. I invite you to do your own research and see it yourself. Whatever flaws there are in the Catholic Church, they are not the result of compromising the gospel. The Apostle John who was told to take care of Mary and call her his mother wrote, in the beginning, was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God and that He created the complete Cosmos before Mary was born, or created, and in v14, that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us full of Grace and Truth, This means that He eternally existed before Mary was born or existed, and therefore is absurd to teach that Mary is the mother of God, using the words of Elisabeth in Luke chapter 1v43, the mother of my Lord should come to me, because what she means is found in Matthew chapter 22v44, when the Lord Jesus said that David spoke by the Spirit and saId, The Lord said unto my Lord sit on My right hand until I make your enemies your footstool , and Paul in First Corinthians chapter 15v24-28, then comes the end when the Lord Jesus shall deliver up the kingdom to God even the Father , for He the Lord Jesus must reign until He has but all things under His feet, when He has put all things under His feet , it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted, , because when all things are put under Him then shall the Son br subject unto Him who put all things under Him that God may all and in all This means that the words that Elisabeth says, My Lord, means the Son who is subject to His Father in Eternity, so that when this Son says in John chapter 17v5, and now Father glorify me with yourself, with the glory that I had with you before the world was , that this means that the words, the mother of my Lord, refer to the incarnate Lord who emptied Himself of His Godhead glory to become a mortal servant capable of dying for the sin of the world

Don't make her a god Mathew 12:46-50 While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven! Church and sacraments and Mary CAN NOT SAVE YOU. . 5. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6. Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (1 Timothy, 2) This following verse is as simple as it can be put. We are justified by grace through faith. And grace means grave. Free. We have no part in our salvation because it is God that does all the saving! 10. As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14. Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15. Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16. Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17. And the way of peace have they not known: 18. There is no fear of God before their eyes. 19. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26. To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29. Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30. Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (Romans, 3) It is very simple to be saved and takes only a minute to explain. Please let me show you how to get to Heaven from the Bible, God's Word... Man is a Sinner in the Eyes of a Holy God. Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.”John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” There is a Price For Our Sin―Burning in Hell Forever. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”2nd Thessalonians 1:8, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”Revelation 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Jesus paid that price by dying on the cross and shedding His blood; Christ was buried and bodily rose again the third day! Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”1st Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ...”1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” This is the Gospel. By faith in Jesus Christ ALONE we are immediately saved.Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”John 11:25, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”1st Corinthians 3:11, "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Salvation is NOT found in a religion or good works, but in a Person... Have you ever wondered this... that the BODY AND BLOOD that Christ received to form his humanity COMES FROM MARY? If you are calling Mary a sinner, then you are saying that Christ Body and Blood is tainted with sin! Why? Because he received that Body and Blood solely from Mary. Mary had to be sinless to conceive the Son of God. Emmanuel means” God is with us”. Mary truly had God in her. The ark of the covenant is like the Virgin Mary. In fact Mary is the ARK OF THE NEW COVENANT. Mary doesn’t have a high priest staff, manna, or the Ten Commandments tables in her womb. Most Roman Catholic beliefs and practices regarding Mary are completely absent from the Bible. Where did those beliefs come from? The Roman Catholic view of Mary has far more in common with the Isis mother-goddess religion of Egypt than it does with anything taught in the New Testament. Interestingly, the first hints of Catholic Mariology occur in the writings of Origen, who lived in Alexandria, Egypt, which happened to be the focal point of Isis worship. The Lord’s Supper being a consumption of the literal body and blood of Jesus is not taught in the Bible. The idea that bread and wine are miraculously transformed into the literal body and blood of Jesus (transubstantiation) is not biblical. However, several ancient pagan religions, including Mithraism, which was very popular in the Roman Empire, had some form of “theophagy” (the eating of one’s god) as a ritualistic practice. Roman Catholicism has “saints” one can pray to in order to gain a particular blessing. For example, Saint Gianna Beretta Molla is the patron saint of fertility. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals. There are multiple patron saints of healing and comfort. Nowhere is even a hint of this taught in Scripture. Just as the Roman pantheon of gods had a god of love, a god of peace, a god of war, a god of strength, a god of wisdom, etc., so the Catholic Church has a saint who is “in charge” over each of these and many other categories. Many Roman cities had a god specific to the city, and the Catholic Church provided “patron saints” for cities as well.

I tried so hard to resist commenting, but I will just point out a small matter of interest. If Mary is a big deal as this spirited presentation by Tim Staples purports; Why didn't John, who received Mary as his mother at the cross, make effort to ensure the gospel he shared had appropriate Marian content? Why doesn't he in any letters say something about such a significant role? I add, why did Paul say, "I only want to know Christ and him crucified" (why not add "and his blessed mother"! Peter in his recorded ministry in Acts and his two letters says nothing about the blessed lady. Surely it was not an oversight, as the disciples were very full of the Holy Spirit. Maybe Mr. Staples has a greater measure of the Spirit than them for him to have deeper insight than them! Obviously, according to the Catholics, Mary did God a huge favour by accepting to be the mother but from normal reading it is Mary who should ever be grateful for being granted that blessed privilege of being the mother of the Lord. Surely, if Mary was not going to be willing, God could have found a thousand other alternatives to fulfil this role. After all, nothing shall be impossible with God. One thing I know, it is impossible for God to sin or to remove the world's sin without the full punishment in Christ. This is a demand by His justice and holiness. The fact that people can applaud what Tim was saying, to me shows that what the Catholics believe is totally another gospel to the one I have put my faith in.

@@cog6879 I just scanned through the text edition I just downloaded and in short this document seems to have a lot of details about Mary that are not found in the Bible or records of early Christians. These are revelations claimed by some 17th century nun! Well, so did Mohammed claim about his Koran as God's direct revelations. The Bible in 1 John 4:1 tells us to discern every spirit and as a discerning Church historian I find this kind of emphasis on Mary not supported by any of the apostles. Peter in his preaching in the book of Acts or his two letters never anywhere mentions the need of involving Mary for our salvation or daily walk with God. The Apostle, Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 summarises things of primary importance when he presents the gospel that saves us- No hint of Mary there. In short, the gospel I hold on is according to the foundation led by the apostles and not some fancy revelations 1600 years later. So between Staples's gospel and Paul's, John's , Peter's gospel, I chose that of the later 3. I also reiterate Paul's words in Galatians 1:8, if any one preaches another gospel, let him accursed. I reject another Gospel!

@@mmbtalk Does the Bible say that everything about the faith should be only in the Bible? Does one need to be told by only an apostle to love the mother of God? Did Paul say that one should NOT pray to Mary? Does God not love the woman He chose to be His mother? Would you want to despise, dishonour, or ignore a person who God highly esteems? Should we not love what God loves? Mary is described as the ark of the new covenant by early church fathers: God said that a sanctuary should be made for Him so that he would "dwell in their midst", and he gave specifications for the ark. Does not Immanuel mean "God with us"? Did God not lavish so much care and instruction on the ark of the covenant which contained the manna, the staff of Aaron, and the ten commandments (all three signifying Jesus the living bread that came down from heaven, the eternal high priesthood of Jesus, and the fulfilment of the law in Jesus)? If God could specify so minutely every detail about the ark that was an inanimate object that was to be His place of glory and grace, to which his chosen people should come to speak to him, how much more care would he have lavished on the person within whom God the Son was to be incarnated? How much more care should we take to go to His dwelling place, Mary, who gave flesh to the ever-living Son of God. Does this not prefigure the annunciation of the angel Gabriel to Mary about how the Holy Spirit would overshadow her and that Jesus would be made flesh (imperishable food) within her? The food (manna) that people collected perished every morning the next day, but the food (living bread) in the pot kept inside the ark was not perishable. Did he not warn the Israelites about being careful not to dishonour or desecrate the ark? So do you think he would have abandoned Mary, the ark of the new covenant, after the birth of Jesus, or after his death, or even after his ascension into heaven? And would God be pleased with someone who despises, dishonours, or ignores the woman he loves?

BTW if Tim is going to make a big deal out of the statement, "behold your mother", why not apply equal balance and address the preceding statement, "behold your son". Equally, John must be a gift to the church as much as Mary is. Unfortunately, the Catholics are driven by doctrines outside the scriptures and will do anything to make scripture say what they want. If our relationship with Christ requires Marian involvement in the way Tim puts, then I would like to know why Paul as he summarises the central truths of the gospel In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, did not rope in Marian dogmas. Unless Mr. Staples has superior understanding to that of the apostle Paul! By the way not even John, the apostle who was supposedly looking after the blessed mother Mary, get anywhere near the rhetoric that we find in this video above. You also name Peter, and nothing is recorded to hint that he held Mr. Staples' beliefs. Mary as a true believer joined the rest of the 120 witnesses in Jerusalem waiting for the reception of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:14,15). The gospel is about Christ and Him crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2), Period!

@@GlendaRohrs56 My main issue is your being choosy by only publishing what suits your purposes; let's be honest, to Mary He said, " Behold your son" and to the disciple, "Behold your mother". If the later means Mary is being given to the entire Church, can you give me reasons why John is also not being given as son to the church? Furthermore, John's reaction to that instruction was to take Mary to his home. At no time does John start announcing to the rest of the disciples that Mary had now been given as our mother to the church. Not even in the three letters he wrote to the churches, does tell us about the gift of Mary to the church, because this idea is purely Catholic gospel. Despite all the excitement the Catholics get, the biblical mother of the Lord continued together with the early church as an ordinary follower of the Lord (Acts 1:12-14). Thus, we will witness the invasion of everything that is spiritual: philosophy, science, law, teaching, the arts, the media, literature, theater, and religion. I am concerned about the confidences of the Virgin to the little Lucia of Fatima. This persistence of the Good Lady in face of the danger that threatens the Church is a divine warning against the suicide that the alteration of the Faith, in its liturgy, its theology, and its soul, would represent. I hear around me innovators who wish to dismantle the Sacred Chapel, destroy the universal flame of the Church, reject her ornaments, and make her remorseful for her historical past. Well, my dear friend, I am convinced that the Church of Peter must affirm her past, or else she will dig her own grave. I will fight this battle with the greatest energy on the inside of the Church, just as outside of it, even if the forces of evil may one day take advantage of my person, my actions, or my writings, as they try today to deform the history of the Church. All human heresies which alter the word of God are so that a greater light might appear.” Sr. Agnes heard the beautiful voice of Our Lady speaking from the statue once more: "The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres, churches and altars will be sacked. The Church will be full of those who accept Compromises and the devil will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. The demon would be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer any pardon for them." Bishop John Ito, on April 22, 1984, after eight years of investigating the Akita apparitions and after consulting with the Holy See (including Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI), approved the messages of Our Lady of Akita. He authorized, throughout his entire diocese, the veneration of our Holy Mother of Akita. A dossier was turned over to Cardinal Ratzinger at the Vatican who, after studying it for himself, reaffirmed that the events were credible and reliable and worthy of belief by all Catholics. Howard Dee, former Philippine ambassador to the Vatican, said in a 1998 interview with Inside the Vatican magazine: “Bishop Ito [the local bishop, now deceased] was certain Akita was an extension of Fatima, and Cardinal Ratzinger personally confirmed to me that these two messages, of Fatima and Akita, are essentially the same. Also let's not forget why Fr Alonso said before he passed away. Father Alonso understood quite well to what extent the content of the Secret, and this alone, prevented the Popes from revealing it. In his last article on the Secret of Fatima, written just a few weeks before his death, while he prudently gave the appearance of justifying Rome’s silence, he wrote these remarkable clairvoyant lines: An inopportune revelation of the text would only have further exasperated the two tendencies which continue to tear the Church apart: a traditionalism which would believe itself to be assisted by the Fatima prophecies, and a progressivism which would have lashed out against these apparitions, which in such a scandalous manner would seem to put the brakes on the conciliar Church’s forward progress . . . Pope Paul VI judged it opportune and prudent to delay the revelation of the text until better times. Pope John XXIII declared that the text did not refer to his pontificate . . . And the following Popes did not consider that the moment had come to lift the veil of mystery, in circumstances where the Church has still not overcome the frightening impact of twenty post-conciliar years, during which the crisis of the Faith has installed itself at every level. Stupefying words: revealing Our Lady’s prophecies, the Fatima expert explains to us, would come to clearly vindicate the defenders of tradition and uphold them in their struggle, and on the contrary, restrain and disavow the supporters of the “Conciliar Reform” to the point of infuriating them against Fatima. Here is an 1862 prediction: St John Bosco: "There will be an Ecumenical Council in the next century, after which there will be chaos in the church. Tranquility will not return 'till the Pope succeeds in anchoring the ship of Peter between the twin columns of Eucharist devotion and Devotion to Our Lady." Tim Staples, go do your research on the French Mystic Marie-Julie Jahenny. Our Lord & Our Lady appeared to her & warned her about the coming New Mass & New Sacraments of Pope Paul VI! ---Sister Lucy to Fr Fuentes: Father, the devil is engaged in a decisive battle with the Holy Virgin, and as he knows what it is that most offends God, and which in a short space of time will gain for him the greatest number of souls, he does everything he can to capture souls consecrated to God, because in this way the devil separates souls from their leaders, and thereby he can seize them more easily. ---That which afflicts the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Heart of Jesus is the fall of religious and priestly souls. The devil knows that religious and priests who fail in their beautiful vocation drag numerous souls to hell (…). The devil wishes to take possession of consecrated souls; he tries to corrupt them in order to deaden the souls of lay people in a final impenitence. He employs all the tricks, even going so far as to suggest delaying entrance into religious life. The result of this is the sterility of interior life, and among lay people, coldness regarding the subject of renouncing pleasure and total dedication to God. Tim the only reason why you believe that Fatima is over and the ''triumph'' has happened (which is hasn't) is because you're afraid of what the message could mean for the Neo-Catholic Movement. The Apologists like Karl Keating, Jimmy Akin & Yourself are worried that the publication of the message will call the Second Vatican Council, the New Mass, Ecumenism, the entire Post-Conciliar Church and the strange actions and/or inactions of the Conciliar Popes into question. Well Tim, it seems that you're movement and beliefs will soon come crumbling down on yourself like a TON of bricks on your PROUD head! So do you think that Vatican II was still a prophetic, powerful and much-needed Council, along with the Post-Conciliar reforms that are still on-going, are another in the long list of positive reforms over the centuries. Do you still think it's an Awesome Council??? Apparently Sr Lucy of Fatima along with God himself (the Creator of the Universe) disagrees with you and the Schismatic Organisation that you belong to!

This video clearly shows why evangelical Christianity and Catholicism are totally different. The Catholic's salvation totally hangs on Mary's decision to accept to be the mother of the Lord, while for evangelicals, Mary should count herself blessed to have been chosen to be the vessel God wanted to use for bringing His son into the world because God could easily find a thousand others to choose from, anyway. It is also gross blasphemy for Tim to call Mary the spouse of the Holy Spirit, Christ was conceived by the overshadowing power of the Spirit not in the normal way that a child is conceived between couples.

Are Catholics saved? The question “are Catholics saved?” cannot be answered with a universal “yes” or “no.” In the same way, neither can the questions “are Baptists saved?” or “are Presbyterians saved?” or “are Methodists saved?” be answered in a universal sense. One is not saved by being Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, or Methodist. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9). There is likely no denomination or division of the Christian faith in which every member truly has personally trusted in Christ as Savior. Further, there are well over one billion Roman Catholics in the world. Among those adherents, there is a significant amount of latitude in beliefs and practices. Roman Catholics in the United States do not have identical beliefs and practices as Roman Catholics in Italy. Catholics in Latin America are not the mirror images of Catholics in Africa. While the Roman Catholic hierarchy advances the notion that all Roman Catholics hold to the same beliefs and observe the same practices, this is definitely not the case. The diversity within Catholicism is another reason why the question “are Catholics saved?” cannot be answered absolutely. If we change the question to be more specific, however, we can have a definite answer: “are Catholics who adhere to official Roman Catholic beliefs and practices saved?” The answer to this question is “no.” Why? Because the official teaching of Roman Catholicism is that salvation is not by faith alone, through grace alone, in Christ alone. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that one must have good works and observe the rituals of Roman Catholicism in order to be saved. Summarizing the Catholic understanding of salvation is difficult because it is extensive. Here is a summary of the official Roman Catholic teaching on salvation: to be saved, a person must receive Christ as Savior by faith, be baptized in the Trinitarian formula, be infused with additional grace by observing the Catholic sacraments, especially the Eucharist, and then die without any unconfessed mortal sins. If one accomplishes the above, he or she will be saved and granted entrance into heaven, likely after an extensive time of further cleansing in purgatory. The Roman Catholic process is significantly different from the apostle Paul’s teaching on how salvation is received: “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). John 3:16 ascribes salvation to everyone who believes inChrist. Ephesians2:8,9 explicitly teaches that salvation is not by works, with verse 10 then clarifying that works are the result of salvation. Simply put, the Catholic teaching on salvation is very different from what the Bible teaches. So, no, if a person holds to the official Roman Catholic understanding of salvation, he or she is not saved. Despite their vigorous affirmations, Roman Catholicism does not truly hold to salvation by grace through faith. With that said, it is important to remember that not all Catholics hold to the Roman Catholic understanding of salvation. There are Catholics who truly and fully believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone. There are Catholics who observe the sacraments as an aspect of spiritual growth and intimacy with God, not in an attempt to earn salvation. There are many Catholics who believe in the biblical doctrine of salvation and do not understand that the official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church is something very different. Are Catholics saved? Do Catholics go to heaven? It depends. If the question is “are there saved Catholics?” then the answer is “yes.” If the question is “will a person go to heaven if he or she holds to the official Roman Catholic doctrine of salvation?” the answer is “no.”

Mathiew 23 pretty much invalidates the whole of Catholicism but its hard to have a conversation with Catholics when they claim truth "just because" without biblical contextual standing. Tim is really good at surface scripture but not contextual scripture. He was converted to Catholicism early in his walk with Christ so he lacks foundational knowledge of the power of the Bible ands gods authoritative word over the Catholicism. You see if you follow a church that inclines its self to make up extra doctrine in the "name of" Jesus, no one questions such a organization and according to Trent are not allowed to question the church. This is the authoritative issue with Catholicism and the difference between Protestant and Catholics. Catholics follow, protestants read critically and challenge. instead of quoting doctrine, match the bible up against the churches claims in the Catechism about Mary. Ignore authority for a few hours and do some research. It doesn't line up.
