Having built many things myself over the years Shawn, I was right with you every board, beam and nail, even the snow! It's wonderful to have a helper but there is a satisfaction in doing everything yourself,,,,,,,,when it's finished! But at the time how a extra pair of hands would have speeded up the process. But also, not having other things going on when you're working, the lack of noise and in that setting is true wealth. Lugging those heavy beams to the top making your roof and almost losing them, boy, could I relate to this! It's a beautiful structure Shawn and like the early homesteads, the barn or shop were built first in order to make a living until a proper house could be built. Having a warm dry place to work as you're building your new and improved cabin will be so much appreciated I'm sure. As I've said before, the wisdom you've gained is priceless in your new homestead. The cabin you're leaving behind will be greatly loved and appreciated by another and they may not mind all the activity in the future development. I'm with you 100% in the move. We are here to connect and to experience the Joy of Mother Earth and you'll never be sorry in rebuilding your homestead I believe. Besides, I've notice how Cali has been helping so much. That can't be beat! The skills you've acquired with hand tools are further connecting you with the environment the Spirit of you and the land. I do so much appreciate your sharing with us all . And watch Cali as well, what a great dog-friend! Today, in The Netherlands, we're for 5 weeks in full lockdown. At least, it's silent outdoors, without traffic noise, and walking through the center of town is a pleasure too, quiet, with all shops closed. I realize that living outdoors, in nature, remote, is a healthy and safe way of life, without being bothered by a virus, with the mad pandemic management that makes no sense, causing huge damage.
