I'm impressed with the level of teamwork required to get all these hand carved joints from multiple people to all fit together. The story of how it was done is just as impressive as the structure will be.

You know Chris I have watched you for years and have enjoyed all the wonderful things you have accomplished you really are a cleaver talented man but watching this wonderful series you have all done on the "magnificent" barn build has been a real joy, just watching all of you very calm talented men work happily together made me so happy and longing for the next episode Thanks so much for sharing this build Chris :)

Absolutely spot on Linda. This series has been shining example of skill, talent and hard work by everyone involved. I really felt your frustration with that lorry at the end Kris - I've had issues with similar cowboys in the past, it can really put a downer on things. I'd have been in bits just lifting one of those beams so I'm in awe of what you accomplished.

I’ve been considering why the quality of your videos are so much better than mainstream TV productions when documenting DIY matters and concluded that the essential difference is that yours are produced by skilled practical people who know and understand the problems associated with creating complex projects. Whereas TV producers are trained only with recording visual techniques and often know little about the processes they’re recording. The absence of distracting music and unnecessary commentary is a feature of your video’s with attention to detail where it matters is the hallmark of your work. This series from planning to the erection of the finished result is excellent and entertaining throughout. You engage with your audience very well without trying to compromise on imparting essential information. In short your work and that of Dorothy is inspirational and no doubt will encourage many others to take on their own projects.

Kris, what you are doing is fantastic, truly wonderful and you are living your dream (and many others dream as well) but what really impresses me more than anything here is the skill and craftsmanship of you and the team from Timber Roots. The average age of the guys is probably late 20's, possibly early 30's and its just remarkable to see that level of professionalism these days - I come from a die manufacturing background and my trade is a dying breed - hopefully woodworking will survive for many years to come using all the core skills which have been around for thousands of years, supplemented with modern tools but the core competency is still alive and doing well - great job.

I'm not sure I could ever achieve your level of tenacity (I'm 60 so it's kind of a given) but I'm damned sure I've achieved your level of appreciation of these wonderful young craftsmen..... and, as a bonus, they're such nice guys :o) The whole lot of you are deserving of HUGE admiration and NOTHING that you ever post will go unwatched or unappreciated by dedicated followers like me .... and, no doubt, the other half million + out there! :o) Bravo all round! I DO have projects coming up and I WILL be using some of the techniques you've shown us over the years .... but, mostly, I'll be trying to live up to your amazing example..... please e-mail me a large package of your enthusiasm and I'll use that as a starting point! One of the best channels on KZbin. I watch a lot of videos, but only subscribe to only the few good ones and have been subscribed to your channel before you built the round house. Kris, Thx for another compelling video diary on this amazing project. Must say you found gems in those Timber Roots boys, true craftsmen. Hate to be one of those "you should" advice types but your wonderful lifestyle depends totally on your physical abilities so protecting your body is paramount. Rest is highly important and you would not regret using a back brace for heavy lifting as it will take a toll, protecting your lower back now will pay dividends down the years. Slow & Steady, wins the day every time 😉
