I can't quite believe that all these years later, after watching the first bit of cob on the roundhouse, that you are not just still making videos, but that they get progressively more complex and ambitious, made possible by the experiences and skills learning that we've witnessed with our own eyes. If ever anyone wonders what they might be able to learn, and do, they just need to watch your channel from day one. Your growth is so inspiring to me precisely because it feels like such an achievable human experience - for me your channel is a showcase for achieving progress through consistent action and embracing mistakes. Such a privilege that you've shared it all with us, and offer such a solid example of what's possible. Cheers, Kris.

Superb effort all round Kris. Please watch your back when shifting those beams at ground level mate all it takes is one bad lift and your build will grind to a halt. Use mechanical assistance wherever possible even if it means an extra 20 minutes here and there.

Hi kris. I have been working in the building and joinery work for many years, now retired I’m missing the joinery but watching you build the new barn is very therapeutic. In my mind you're a skilled young man and while you’re working on the barn your partner (Dot) is feeding the animals you both are a great inspiration. I love watching your videos so no matter what you’re doing just keep them coming. Keep well and safe. Regards David.

This is just amazing . Two men in the usual lousy British weather constructing a barn that will most likely be standing 400 years from now. Mt hat is off to you Kris. If i was not 70 and left that crappy weather behind over 40 years ago i would be honored to come and help. P.S. THE OLD TIMERS WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEIR RIGHT ARM FOR JOIST HANGERS . AS YOU SAID EVERY PIECE YOU TAKE OUT OF A BEAM WEAKENS IT ,I HAVE SPENT YEARS REINFORCING MY HOUSE FLOORS BECAUSE OF 150 YEAR OLD BUILDING TECHNIQUES.

My dad put up his first pole barn 40x80. I was born 1950 I was 4-5 years old. It stayed up till 2008. We used as dairy barm calf pens overhead bean storage and milking stalls. Later he added a lean to to one side and that held milk cows in winter. Plus we added 2 more large pole barns on 160 acres dairy farm. We used center to store tractors and hay. Never forget my dad climbing to top of barn in his 70’s like a monkey. Great looking barn. ❤❤❤

Kris, I haven't been commenting a lot recently, but I've been watching all the videos for this barn build. What an incredibly time consuming process! I was fastinated by the joinery videos with the guys you hired. I've always fancied myself a wood worker, but all that timber framed joinery is a whole new level. And like you said, watching the pieces go up is quite different from seeing them laying down in the barn. It's going to be an incredible building, and I can't wait to see more!

Kris, Your work is impeccable. The time-honored ways of doing things are extremely gratifying from this end and am sure it is the same on your end. Thank you for choosing to do the entire job of creating, milling, carpentry with the crew you worked with in creating the truss assembly, and now the assembly on site. Saving money on all aspects of your dream makes things possible without draining the entire bank account. Your reward will stand as a hallmark to your skills and love of the "old ways".

Friends like these men are rare and you should plan on doing something special for them to show your appreciation.
