I've got to say, I thoroughly enjoy this series (aswell as your Satisfactory content, might I add) I think you should turn down the volume on music (and ambience if it's a thing in Timberborn). It's disturbingly loud in this video, I think. I haven't noticed it in prior videos though.

I'm glad you enjoyed them. I will look at my sound settings and see what's happened. I haven't changed anything myself, so there may have been an update that has changed something.

10:20 To follow up on my previous comment, there are two places where I would have started with water pumps, both being below the two dead birch saplings, so about six and eight squares left of where you placed yours. (The left sapling would still have got in the way of the path though.) I then would have been tempted to put platforms on that ledge to bring it up to the same level so that more pumps could be placed on it. You can build your powered building directly on top of a vertical power shaft; no need for a downward connector. 16:40 In a similar vein, the badwater pump would fit nicely at the end of that path if you shortened it by one square. And if you wanted a second, there's room on both sides for more pumps. Doesn't the game let you preview the badwater pump before you unlock it? (You then did with the overhangs.) 25:05 I don't think you need floodgates there, since there's no reason to stop the badwater from mixing with more badwater. I almost thought you didn't need to remove the barriers but I guess they caused that random flooding. The best place for your first engine would have been replacing your Smelter's power wheel, so you could then build a second Smelter (as one engine provides enough power for two) to double your metal block production. I notice you can set the priority on a gatherer flag. I wonder why you can't set priority on a lumberjack flag...

I already replied to this but my comment seems to have vanished, so I'll give it another go! Those water pumps are likely temporary. When (if) we move up to that area, they will probably be moved or replaced to fit in with whatever we build up there. Similarly with the badwater pump, I will hopefully be building up in that area too and changing where the badwater flows, so that pump is a temporary measure too. Good to know that buildings can take power in from underneath. That makes things easier! I keep forgetting that we can preview locked buildings now. Just one of my (many) blind spots! I put the floodgates in at the bottom so that we could flush fresh water into that section and use the land around it. I'm also thinking about using that lagoon space just below the smelter as an additional fresh water lake and having that fresh water channel will help. Eventually, all of the water and bad water sources will have sluice arrangements set up on them, hopefully, so there will be no issues with badwater except during the badtides themselves. I will also be replacing the power wheels with engines eventually. I probably should have replaced that one as soon as we had the parts for it! Do you mean a priority on types of resource gathered, like mangrove fruits or berries? I hadn't thought about it. I suppose it's expected that the lumberjack only cuts what has been marked for cutting, so if you want them to ignore a type of tree you just don't mark it.

​@@StormhavenGaming The use case I thought of was that if some of your trees had been killed by badwater then you might want to cut those first. Also if your pumps are only temporary then I feel it makes even less sense to construct extra platforms for them, but maybe I've misunderstood and it's a case of having to watch more episodes. (I have also very occasionally had comments vanish although effectively I've lost more from them going into one content creator's spam folder which she never checked so she never got to see any of my comments.)

trouble with this map, anywhere you want to dam or floodgate up, tends to be choke points. which seem like the ideal place to block up, but its really difficult to then get the bad water out from right behind said floodgates without just waiting a long time or just letting some degree of bad water through

Yeah, it's a tricky map. There's always some contamination. Eventually, I want to set up sluices on all water sources so that we can divert the fresh and bad water through different channels and aqueducts. That is some way away, of course!
