G'day Jeff. They are actually Toyo R888 semi slicks, but yeah they do help a lot. I'd love to take the car back to Wakey and have another go- the car is heaps further along now. That 1:09 was basically a stripped out stocker. No cage, very limited suspension, still carrying a lot of weight.

Hi Ben, just found this again. We got 1.11.19 in the manual V8 with slicks and rear wing not long after you posted this. We are now removing the V8 and slotting in a nice single Turbo 6, 330kw and 655lb ft torque.

G'day mate. I am doing 1:06 around wakefield now with 300rwkw. I changed to bigger twins and made 370rwkw but havent improved the lap times. I am still running cheap semi slicks (NT01 at the moment) but have just got a set of V70A semi slicks to try. I am really hoping to dip into the 1:05 region. The car is capable of 1:05 flat according to the Haltech logger - I just need to string some good corners together.

why not slicks, we run slicks and they6 are thye ducks guts. Good times though. Ever done Eastern Creek?

You cant run slicks in Time Attack competition, so it doesn't make sense to spend money on them. I have just moved to 18 inch rims, so I plan to keep an eye out for decent priced second hand slicks to fit on one set or the other. Eastern creek has proved elusive. Each time I find an event up there I end up not being able to make it. My car would be better suited to that track with all the aero on it. It doesn't get much use at Wakey.

An aero kit will aid in aero efficiency, maybe assist in the reduction of lift, and even make the rear wing more efficient, yes. Unfortunately most commecially available bodykits are simply aesthetic with no real aero benefits. Sure, some of them can be a good start point to develop aero parts which is where I am at currently.

@MrBen12a At bodykit doesn't just make a car pretty, it helps in downforce too.

I have some Vertex side skirts on it now, an alloy rear diffuser, and have further modified the front bar area. A body kit to make it pretty is not on the cards, as it isn't the point of the car. Fast yes, pretty no.
