TIME LAPS (Arctic Solstice)

Some of you asked what it was like with the darkness in the north, while we don't have 24hr darkness here in Iqaluit, the sun rises late and sets early. (sorry for some of the glare)

Almost four years ago, Stephen & I (Jessica) moved to Nunavut, in the Canadian Arctic. Since coming to the North we have had 2 beautiful little boys, Gordon & William. There are many things that make living in the north pretty incredible, including the culture, the people, the extremely LONG summer days and the darkness of the winter months to name a few.

Okay, I don't drink, but I thought I saw two suns. What surprised me was the sun never got far above the horizon. It would be nice to see the same time lapse in summer. The birds flying by were a nice touch. Great video.

+cactus rat lol yes it definitely looks like that, it's called a sundog, the google definition: Sun dogs (or sundogs), mock suns or phantom suns, scientific name parhelia (singular parhelion), are an atmospheric phenomenon that consists of a pair of bright spots on either side on the Sun, often co-occurring with a luminous ring known as a 22° halo. Yes, we will do a Summer solstice time laps for sure :)

+Liz Otick in the summer we have 24hrs of light, it doesn't mean that the sun is up but it goes dusk between 11:30pm - 2am, that is why many people put tin foil on their windows or get black out blinds, because it never gets dark
