Ryan your pod casts keep me sane; I am working in Brazil with 200 Brazilians, who are lovely people but not much English spoken, and my Portuguese is not great so basically no crack or banter. I can’t argue with anybody about football because all we see is local football, most of the ship are Flamengo supporters. Keep it going even in a bad week for Celtic, you have been very realistic and honest in everything that has been said.

21:50 I really like what Ryan is talking about here regarding the calibre of the league we play in and how that hinders us. Fans of other clubs in Scotland will say that we should be closer to teams like Dortmund than they are to us because the relative financial gap is smaller. But that doesn't take into account the footballing gap. Hearts, for example, have played us 4 times (almost) every season for decades so it is much easier for them to prepare for us. On the other hand, we play a team like Dortmund very rarely and Dortmund play teams better than us most weeks. I remember when I was about 15, the team I played for would batter teams every week. But we lost the league on the last day because we dropped points against any team that gave us a challenge (even if we had a much better team) because we just didn't have the fight or the preparation for when the going got tough and I think Celtic are the same.

How many times now has Rodgers refused to adapt to the quality of opposition we've faced? Barca, PSG (home & away) now Dortmund. It's either stupidity or arrogance to believe to go toe to toe with these teams and compete! Previous celtic manager's (O'Neil, Lennon) have adapted to get a result and it's worked. Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Someone should tell Rodgers this!!

Probably the only answer is to hold your nerve , bottle goes and you are done . As Dylan said we sat in against Barca and got pumped 7-0 . Every formation has positives and negatives. Maybe trying to start mids a bit deeper and try and play ourselves into the game . Then again might get hemmed In and smashed anyway but probably worth a shot .

Hi guys, my thoughts after the defeat are av heard quite a bit about the team not being good enough and about BR being maybe naive, do you not think that maybe it lies somewhere between the 2 as in the coaches that train the guys are maybe not got the abilities to help coach a Champions League team, am no expert nowhere near it just an old supporter that thinks maybe they need to be looked at More than the team or the Manager. How many have been with us through all these bad results in Europe. Just my thoughts though

We need to be spending every window like we did for this season - we need to add where we are in most need of quality - I'm guessing Brendan knows what is needed already -- also - some of the players seemed intimidated by big crowd. - we need to get them used to being in proper old firm games with a toxic atmosphere __ also we are going in the right direction - the board is finally spending teal money - fyi - Dortmund spent €252 million euros over past three seasons

Seeing “dust yourself off” being seen as happy clapping is an inability to contextualize sport and tendency toward overstatement that might even supersede that of an American. Anyone who’s played any sport at any appreciable level has likely had his or her team pasted and will likely tell you the ride home was dreadful, training until the next game was dreadful, supporter response was dreadful, but if it has any negative impact on future games it’s the player’s fault. So, yeah, dust yourself off. 2 out of 8 games, 3 points, -2 GD. The goal differential is a concern for sure. Leagues have been lost away in Dingwall (as recently as last year). If the team fails to dust themselves off, supporters are in for an unhappy year.

Why shouldn’t we?.. none of us expect to win either competition. But we should be more than capable of at least holding our own? 11 adult professional football players shouldn’t be allowing any team to score 7 goals against them.. Here's the truth, Scottish teams don't have the quality to defeat our tactics, good European teams do, simple as that. As good as BR is in the spfl, he is quickly found out in Europe. As we've seen against Barca, PSG and now BVB. We need a European playstyle that's different to an SPFL playstyle.
