I'm cutting too, been doing keto omad 5 days and IF 8 hour window for the weekend. Great results. Maybe a bit to hardcore for you though Tom! LOL ;)

Just about to do this same thing, recently hit 1.75x weighted pull-up, now want to bridge the gap and get a OAC in the books along with FL and adv tuck PL. Same height and 92kg, so looking forward to this series!
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
Boom, that's a good effort! As I said in this episode, unilateral movements are essential for the OAC. The struggle is real for us ;)

Great topic for a new series Tom. It does seem counter intuitive to cut muscle mass in order to improve performance, but that's the tricky thing with bodyweight progressions I suppose. You have done well at dialing in your routine. I'm looking forward to trying those archer rows.
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
It's certainly a weird one. Hopefully I won't lose a huge amount of muscle mass but inevitably I will. Archer rows are one of my current fav OAC movements :)

Awesome, another Vlog! I really enjoyed your last series and love the in depth of explanation of the exercise selection. I'm just finishing up a cycle, setting some new goals and really want to try this program. Curious if you would replace lat pullovers with ice cream makers / some dynamic front lever movement? Great content as always, appreciate the discipline and hard work it takes to produce vlogs.
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
Thanks as always brother. The lat pullovers are purely prehab, the focus is on overhead mobility and blood flow for lats rather than it's transfer to the front lever. Good luck with the new cycle :)

Great vid with some ideas to mix up my own training, Tom! I know it's an old one. Thanks for the insight to your gym session.... A question. When cutting with bodyweight exercising, an issue Iv'e found is losing muscle mass; which of course is counter-productive and diminishes performance sharply. If cutting while at a relatively low body-fat already to increase power, how do you ensure you're not losing lean mass while doing this? Is it a case of only doing it for a short time? Thanks again Tom! Your content is helping me in building up strength in bodyweight moves.
@MathMeansMore7 жыл бұрын
Funny, I'm also cutting at the moment. Already down about 4lbs, and hit a new PR on HSPUs last week (3 full ROM). Not sure if it's the lighter body weight, but really happy to know that I'm not sacrificing strength by cutting.
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
Good stuff man! I'm sure the lighter bodyweight helps as it is relative. I have a video about this topic and my experience here, kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXa5onqQicmBfbM

Hello Tom, Do you think it's too much to add 5kgs to your squats each month if your goal is strength training? (aka reaching a specific weight to be done 10 - 15 reps) Thank you

Hi, Tom. Just a quick question. I'm thinking of getting creatine aswell (I think you mentioned in this video it's one of your supplements) and am just wondering if you found it beneficial when it comes to strength and recovery. Thanks!

I personally find it beneficial, it's pretty efficacious, check examine, examine.com/supplements/creatine/

hi mate nice vid. looking forward to the series. just wondered if you looked at any of John mcdoughalls work, how humans perfect diet is starch based. it's really interesting stuff and I know you a high fat kind of guy. I've just started looking into it myself.
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
Awesome Michael. I have done some research into this and it is interesting. I've found a method for me that works but even this changes with the season. I generally find myself eating higher fat/animal products in autumn/winter with more broths, root veg and even some grains. Whilst spring/summer tend to include more fruit and salads. Obviously I don't stick to this all the time but as a whole, I try to honour those seasonal shifts in food. I don't think there is this mystical 1 perfect diet for all as humans are so diverse and different who have evolved with different environmental factors. I really highly recommend reading Weston A Price's "Nutrition and physical degeneration" that for me was very eye opening. Also, this study ( www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/full/10.1086/682587 ) is one of my favourites. Cooking is really the essence of human culture :)

Hey Tom, I have a quick question. What do you think is the best way to do the weight assisted one arm chinups that will keep friction to a minimum? Weight belt, ring strap or normal belt?
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
I use a ring strap and just through it over a smooth finish bar. A pulley is ideal if you can be bothered to rig one up but as long as you keep the strap and bar consistent you can factor in the resistance :)

yo man nice work! I am new around here and have a question, what exercises do you do for calvs and quads?
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
Welcome! So this workout was an upper body day. I also have lower body and full body days. My go to is weighted squats as you just can't beat it. However there is a huge variety of bodyweight you could use. Also I don't train calves unless it's through sprinting etc haha :)

You're crazy man, just grow your muscles, you're naturally very lean already. (I take your point about less weight = more power).

@maximilianojavierrodriguez40087 жыл бұрын
I thought that with your diet and keto style of eating you were building muscle/burning fat/increasing perfomance/skills/ etc at the sime time
@BodyweightWarrior7 жыл бұрын
Kind of yes but I've been just eating a lot...which means I've gained mass but also a little fat. You can definitely do both at the same time if you're careful. Hopefully with the method I've got I should be able to cut down weight and it be mostly fat with minimal mass loss :)
