Time To Move On From Apex Legends… (My 2025 Plans)

I've been thinking about my channels future for about 4 to 5 months now. I have been doing a ton of research to see where I want to go and I think I have a fairly good idea. It's time to branch out. I love Apex but the game has so many issues that makes it really tough to play at times. I wont be quitting Apex but a change was needed for my mental and I am excited to branch out my content in 2025. Hope everyone has a great new year.

I guess the biggest problem with ppl quitting the game is that we feel disrespected as a comunity. We put time, make videos, share stuff, spent money... But the game doesn't grow. It feels stuck.

Exactly this. And it's funny because for the longest time we were dissing _both_ respawn and EA. But after the HisWattson video, to no one's surprise, it's been EA this whole time

​@Mr.DontOverThinkIt I don't know if respawn is totally innocent here. A lot of original devs are gone and have been for a couple years now. There are so many easy slam dunk little things they could've been doing for years that they just didn't. Maybe it's a couldn't, but I genuinely can't comprehend what half the people at respawn even do day to day. The art team is half recolors at this point and apex skins don't hold a candle to most other games. They don't have to make much new legend, weapon, map designs/models anymore. Game design cant be doing much, New POIs and Map changes are basically gone. We rarely get balance/meta changes. Whoever is doing progression is definitely doing nothing all day because we still don't get new trackers, trackers for different modes, barely any new badges, no new progression systems besides the worst weapon leveling system in a game ever. There's no new ways to play ever just recycled game modes every year that come out as an LTM and maybe they add a twist. Story and writers can't be doing much because the lore has been dead for a while and there is almost no story direction aside from obscure out of game content that isn't easily accessible. Unless EA is paying them to sit around half the time I can't think of what actually gets done. Maybe I'm totally wrong and this stuff is way harder to do and implement and maybe it takes way longer especially with an older engine. But I also just don't know who at EA would be saying no to these little things. I mean we did hear all the time how respawn guys refusing to add things we wanted like solos because of "splitting up the massive playerbases qeues" or whatever as if the game isn't huge, and denying quads for so long because they thought comps would become too OP.

I actually used to play Fortnite, but then had a friend get me into Apex, and my have I enjoyed it since season 20. It’s a bit unfortunate that I’ve started playing after the start of the downfall of this game. Online shooters in general are beginning to die off, and it’s not because people are getting bored and the devs are given freedom to create, but people are getting bored because the hierarchies of ea and other companies are not allowing creativity, and now people are getting bored and frustrated. I left Fortnite the same reason people are leaving Apex, I just got bored of it, and the lack of creativity in Fortnite and the more and more collabs symbolize that they are running out of creativity and ideas.

the game just used to be so much better, but its a good thing youre enjoying it, and thats what matters. but one thing you will notice as time goes on is the game is almost exactly the same as it was now as it was 3 years ago. i dont mind coming back to this game every once in a while, but definitely a hard game to main

Personally, I just want to play trios and duos. Don't care about other game modes. Don't care about skins. You don't need more characters or weapons. Don't care about achievements. I love this game, and I'm just gonna keep playing. I think all the achievements is needed for the elite players who are just bored with winning all the time. I, however, am lucky to win one game a day.

Im always always ranking up and don't kill myself trying to get to masters.. Predator is super low depressing grind its NOT worth it my days would be taken up with literally 9 hours a day or something especially since im a solo player..... I think the Br model is not working it relies on people in small groups who don't know each other.... Communicating. Which won't work...... Lul Ita all 3 stacks vs solos om a team its NOT working what WOULD work is having a BR game where NO sqauding up is allowed, randoms only......

Completely agree...as a casual who has only played this game for 18 mo. I love this game. Apex gun play and movement are just better than any other game. The amount of new modes that are out is way better than when I first started playing this game. I think the people tired of playing this game have just played all the game modes and nothing is new or fresh for them. For us who aren't burned out...we see that Apex is fundamentally the best br game out there.

I recommend you give The Finals a shot, it is so refreshing as far as shooters go. No need to commit or anything, but I believe if you liked Apex's basics you're gonna like it. I currently hold a world record of 2,280 Apex Packs i accumulated to make the biggest pack opening in Apex over the past 3 years. I have over 5,000 hours in the game and truly enjoyed it but the game has gone in a very weird direction that has made it less enjoyable for me. I have built my community on this game but fortunately we play a lot of games and just transitioned to other games and its sad to say. Not sure i will ever open the Apex packs but hopeful the game comes back in a big way because its my favorite game.

Its sad to see apex slowly bleeding out. The game scratches an itch that no other shooter even comes close to. The mechanics and endgame plays are very unique. I dropped call of duty to play apex and i still play here and there but the itch isnt getting scratched anymore and there is really no replacement for me. Unless theres a big shake up at the top management apex will likely keep spiralling and losing popularity gradually. It wont "die" today or tomorrow but it will be a slow burn

As someone who as left Apex for other games, I completely understand your decision to move on and I respect it greatly. If you read this and are willing to try another game, The Finals has my recommendation; its an FPS so its within your genre. Apex is a sad one for me. It's the first game that really hooked me and got me addicted after years of sticking to call of duty titles and flicking between games. It truly is one of the best games I've ever played and has so much potential to keep growing strong. But as you said about the many points in this video, it just haven't received the love it deserves from developers. I was a late bloomer on the APEX scene, but I can truly say it's still and always will be one of the best fps games I've ever played.

They'd have to add a custom lobbies browser so I can just play 24/7 tdm and gun run for me to come back. The insane wait between BR matches is just super annoying. Like at bare minimum, 30-35% of my almost 1,000 hours of playtime are just spent waiting around in loading screens and pregame lobbies. Three strikes kinda helped relieve that but it's still just awful.

Not to mention it’s evergreen and can pull in various audiences across gaming and intellectual property writ large. I don’t know if there’s a market for architecture within various gaming and intellectual property (especially shooters). But I do recall that Drift0r tried something different than CoD a couple years ago talking about a POI in Fortnite with four dimensions. He tried to discuss 4D theory in the real world. Apex Legends clearly needs to take a hard look at its strategy because, to be honest, I'm not sure what they can do with titles like Marvel Rivals and Fortnite outperforming Respawn.

Man Marvel Rivals is fun but it doesn't have that "it factor" for me personally. I have a blast while I'm playing but after a few hours im over it for a few days. Apex was always a game that i could play non stop if i had the free time. Its a real shame what EA has done. They had THE best BR in the business and chose to milk it instead of evolving the game. It's unfortunate. But lets be honest...its EA we're talking about. They have killed several games and great development teams (looking at you Visceral Games) so its no surprise to me that they have chosen to treat Apex as a cash cow instead of the franchise that their customers wanted it to be. Ngl, not only Apex feels like completely a waste of time and energy but also other competitive games, going pro in most games now doesnt feel like something that's enjoyable. Now for me I just enjoy playing mostly story games because in this time thats only what i feel enjoyable but its sad to see games i loved to play like apex falling apart because of series of issues.

Theory: apex will keep almost dying, then ea will actually listen for a bit and release good content. That keeps ppl happy till the next almost death, repeat. This happened after the battle pass change rumors and it will happen again.
